Re: Speed up downloads

FlashGet is ad driven until you pay for it
StarDownloader is completely free and no ads at all

I prefer FlashGet, there is not only FireFox plugin for it which you can use to get multipule things from a page, but you can also do batch jobs great for images
For example: website.com\images\hotgirl1.jpg and the go on to hotgirl100.jpg you can enter in the job to get them all quick and easy.
Since I enter a serial, I'm not 100% if the ads are caused by a small piece of adware or not. I've entered my code and run spybot and ad-aware some time later and clean out a few things and FlashGet keeps on working. I'll try something later and check it out.

Re: Speed up downloads

If you go to download.com they have a bunch that are rated and reviewed.

Couldn't agree more.....FlashGet is the BEST out there. I use it all the time....uh correction...I USED to use it all the time as in my job the office proxy blocks it

Anyway its fairly easy to make it adfree and the really cool thing about it is its ability to monitor the clipboard. So I make my list of download jobs in MS Excel (using formulae to drag a pattern) and CTL-C and voila, Flashget downloads them all for me !!!

Re: Speed up downloads

Plus FlashGet is great for batch downloading.
Example: a web site has 100 pics you want to get and they are all linked like...
hXXp://www.server.com/hotpic001.jpg to hotpic100.jpg or even hotpic1.jpg to hotpic100.jpg

You can have FlashGet batch get them all without having to make the list manually.

@DDGuy
That's what you've been using Excel for?

Yeah, That's what I have been using Excel for. I tried once the batch download feature but eventually didn't use it much, I guess I can do the same thing with that feature. Somehow I found Excel method to be more cool (after all I invented it :happycow: )...
