Can't Install Firefox Update?

theres a new update for firefox and i cant download it for some reason. clicked the red arrow button on top of the page and a window/box popped up. sayin its now downloading and installing updates. i dont think its doin anything tho. its there for a long time now. circle keeps runnin but the bar is not goin. does anyone kno what to do? give me some help. thnx so much.
