Congressional Hearings
So what do you guys think so far?
Suprised Big Mac was so emotional. Also I am glad most said what they did about Canseco's cred, and motives. Also glad to hear Raf step up and say he never took steriods.
I will add more later as the hearings go on. Hope to get some input from you guys too!

Re: Congressional Hearings
Palmeiro was straight up serious business in there when he was saying he had never taken them. Personally I never thought that Raf did take them. However it is quite obvious that Giambi and Big Mac did. I'm not so sure about Sosa, I just don't think he would. Seeing Raf shake his finger at Congress made my day yesterday though.

Re: Congressional Hearings
I lost a lot of respect for McGwire.
Question - If a player took Steroids, do you consider that cheating?"
McGwire - "That is not for me to determine"
Also - "I am here to try to turn a negative into a positive, I want to be a part of the group that goes around speaking about steroids".
Yet he won't even talk about them in congress!!!
Won't talk about the past, wont own up to anything. How can he talk to kids about this?

Re: Congressional Hearings
McGwire look pretty bad, but you can't blame him( unless he took roids in '98). I thought Congress was doing something good until I realize that it was my congressman asking McGwire the big qestion(twice). McHenry is only there for the spotlight and to increase his name recognition, even if it means making someone else look bad or tearing down one of our heroes. In the end Congress will not touch the Anti-Trust exemption to force MLB to do the right thing.

Re: Congressional Hearings
^^^
The reason the players were there were for one reason. To see if the MLB's steriod policy was going to be enough to get the drug out of the game. It wasn't to name names and prove certain people right or wrong. What they did to Mac was horrible. Did he take them?? Of course. But whats the point of bringing it up? It does nothing to solve their problem.
Canseco can suck a fat one too.

Re: Congressional Hearings
The thing that suprised me the most was that the MLB drug policy didn't have mandatory suspensions, and congress had to subpoena that information. That goes to show you can't trust MLB, the need to use the Anti-Trust status as a carrot.
