THANK YOU mr. bush part II
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20050314/D88QPPDO0.html
This is basically the American equivalent of the Gulf of Tokin Resolution and whever the fuck was that resolution/bill passed that gave bush the legal right to invade Iraq.

"...Russia and Pakistan supported Beijing's new legislation."
lovely....just lovely thats all I have to say. Because of this war we're in right now, if China were to decide to invade Taiwan we can't do JACK SHIT. Except nukes, and China might be betting on us not using them based on our (hopefully) policy of only using them in retaliation.
Something I just realized recently by the way, if China gets Taiwan, we're FUCKED. No seriously, b/c right now, think about where your shoes, more than half of your car and just about anythign else that is manufactured is made. Its either Taiwan or China. As long as Taiwan is around, China has to keep her prices low in order to keep exporting. If China gets a hold of Taiwan, that little big fat bitch could effectively increase its production by A LOT and also raise prices by A LOT MORE. Does anyone see what I"m saying here?
on a side note:
I'm really worried personaly about this to tell the truth b/c Asus, anybody know them? They make GREAT motherboard, video-card mods, cd-drives and the like. They're based in Taiwan; I hope they move the fuck outta there b/c where else am I gonna buy high quality comp parts from?
btw, everyone boycott IBM (just the PC division, business is still American), its now owned by a Chinese company. As for me, IBM PCs were shitty to begin with..

Your logic on this whole issue is the only thing that frightens me.
I don't even know where to begin, so I will go to bed now and hopefully wake up with no memory of this post.

I agree with Lorill... so I'll tell you where you logic is wrong.
First of all, we have already been fucked. The worst is over with respect to losing manufacturing in this country. I live in North Carolina and I've seen it first hand. I don't believe it can get any worse because the manufacturing jobs will be replaced by something else.
China already is the reason we have a huge trade deficit, i.e. we're getting fucked at this very moment.
In economic logic, increasing productivity lowers prices and cutting productivity raising prices. So which is it are they going control us raising prices or flooding the market with products causing deflation? China's main motivation isn't destroying the US. China's motivation is preventing the weight of having 1.1 billion citizen from destroying China. Raising prices would only play into the hands of US companies who can't lower prices any further. So I'd say they could flood the market and make prices go down.
Attacking Taiwan doesn't just involve the US, but also involves Japan(the world 3rd largest economy behind the European Union and the US), South Korea, and Europe. The last thing 1.1 billion people who are just now tasting prosperity need is a world war and the Chinese gov't knows it.

Re: THANK YOU mr. bush part II
We are a string supporter and ALLY to Taiwan, for various reasons. We have a fleet within easy striking distance and will defend it. China knows this. China does not want to upset the US and start a War, it would cause far more trouble then both countries want. Military, Financial, industrial (short term increase), and millions of deaths.
China is changing and growing. They want Taiwan, but not at the expsense of a War.
