Xbox Mods?
I am getting ready to buy a Xbox and mod it so I can copy games onto a bigger harddrive and have my Xbox play mp3's and etc. I don't really know anything about mod'ing the Xbox so if anyone can help me with what chip I should buy and how do I install the bigger HD and whatever else I should know. oh yeah if I have a mod chip could I still play on Live!?

Re: Xbox Mods?
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php This would be your best place to start since there are so many ways to go. I have modded an xbox using a chip and using softmod. Softmod is the easiest way to go but if you want to play live its easier to use a chip.

Re: Xbox Mods?
Is softmod a non solder or something? I know how to solder. I'm kinda looking for a mod that will allow me to add a bigger HD and I would like to put avaluanch in it. I'm still looking around but thats what im going for.

Re: Xbox Mods?
I just purchased a pre-modded Xbox v1.6 with an Xecuter 2.6 CE. I personally installed a larger (80GB) hard drive and installed Avalaunch. It works great for MP3's and such. I haven't tried it on XBL since I am sure it would get banned.
You might want to look into the Xtender. It's supposed to allow you to have 3 hard drives in one Xbox. That way you can keep the original hard drive installed for playing on XBL, and then have 2 others for MP3's and videos and whatnot. You can only access one drive at a time. Just google Team Xtender to get more info.

Re: Xbox Mods?
I've got an X3 (Xecuter 3) and a X.B.I.T. The X3 is a really good chip, I'd recommend it.
