in about the same week, Microsoft announces their commercial version of Windows xp 64-bit. Intel also announces the Pentium 4 with 64-bit extensions. I really wish I made a post betting on this before b/c I've been saying this to all my friends for at least a year. AMD is getting dicked over b/c intel and winodws have each other's penises in thier asses and this is just a fucking blatant TRUST. I think dell is in on the orgy as well b/c they don[t have any amd procs on tehir comps, which are shit anyway. I'm fixing them all the time for my friends, any coincidence?well, I'm just really pissed and I'm going on a rant, I dare someone to say that INtel and Microsoft aren't working together....come on, I dare ou too....

Re: 64-bit news

man anyone that knows anything about computers knows that AMD is the shit and Intel is just a gay ass company that buys people off and throws money at marketing. I mean AMD has had their 64 bit chip for what? a year now? Intel is so cutting edge let me tell you. If people only knew the things they did

Re: 64-bit news

Intel has had 64 bit for a while, but it was not backwards compatible with the 32 bit software of today. Only recently has Intel released a 64 bit chip with the 32 backwards like AMD.

haahaha, I like that, thanks. I was lacking descriptions for their partnership together. and yes Intel did have 64 bit processors but they were no serious competiton to the Athlon 64 (Intel, albiet indirectly, admitted that) adn remember Longhorn? it was supposed to come out someitme this year

Re: 64-bit news

Dell does ship AMD based machines, but only for select business customers, and only by request. You cannot go to their website and order one.

Intel is the shit for multitasking, video production, and business apps.

AMD has ALWAYS been the shit for gaming and all the cool shit us REAL people do. Whenever I build a gaming box, I always go with AMD. For business clients, Intel is the way to go (even though they cost a FUCK of a lot more).

But you are right, Intel, M$ and Dell are in bed together, and it is one big fucking sloppy mess. AMD will end up getting screwed, as they have in the past, but they will not lose their loyal customers, like all of us (he types on his P4 laptop).

I have 10 computers running in my house right now, only 3 of them are Intel, Sager laptop and a IBM laptop (Sager for games and IBM for work). The rest are AMD. Hell, I even have three K6-3 450+ machines running Mandrake, and they are the SHIT!

Oh well...

Re: 64-bit news

Just got myself a base model AMD939 3000+ running at standard 1800Mhz and it kicks my p4's 3.2Ghz to the ground. I just got it as a hack to deal with my every day stuff. Now changed Hacks.
Both run 1GB Ram. Both run 256Mb Pci E graphics but the AMD Kicks my Intels ass...
