TMJ & BJ's
I have TMJ which is also known as Temporo-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction some call it Lock Jaw too. it causes me to have a lot of pain in my jaw when I open my mouth too much <hush dont need the comments> my jaw sometimes locks in place, giving head also is effected because the motion causes my muslces to tense up and hurt. so thats why I am writing. Its starting to bother me that I can't give a blow job for more then a minute.
I've tried pain meds and my dentist can't do anything about it because my TMJ is far more advance then most. I'm not sure if any of you have this problem? or have any ideas what I can do to make it more comfortable, my hubby will probably thank you if anyone can come up with a solution.

Re: TMJ & BJ's
Hmmm... We should get AmorMiHombre and Jimi in here, I think I recall reading about them having TMJ. Not so sure if Jimi can give you tips on giving BJ's though

Re: TMJ & BJ's
Haha, don't understand the JimMeister!!
Hehe, that's so funny that you should mention me because i came in here to supply my .02.
I have slight TMJ (was worse when i was a few years younger) and it is aggravated by chewing gum and the like.
Anyyyyyyyyhoo, i once went away for a weekend and both nights i gave a blowjob at an off angle and my jaw locked and i couldn't really fully chomp down because it was kinda locked out of alignment...I had a dentist appointment and after i told the dentist about my misalignment he was ready to set me up for a mouth guard and night guard and all this expensive equipment...i just dropped it as i didn't have the balls to tell him i fucked up my jaw giving head.
I don't have TMJ to the extent that you do, so i can't really give you much advice...have you ever been fitted for a guard or anythign of the sort that might help? (although i was also going to get a nightguard because i manifested stress by clenching my jaw when i slept) If you don't feel comfortable talking to your dentist, maybe you could call a dentist anonymously or write an email to one?
Hope ANY of that helps...if not, try pleasing the other person in other ways...

Re: TMJ & BJ's
I do have the night guard. doesnt help much anymore because my cartilage is almost completely worn away from my jaw (where it opens and closes). I'll probably see if i can email a dentiist anonymously. Haha. I am just a chicken to ask my family dentist tips on bj's and tmj. Thanks for trying to help though! :D

Amor, I can't believe you had "blowjob" and "chomp down" in the same sentence!!
Amyroo, I hope you find someone who can help you find a solution.

Re: TMJ & BJ's
Amyroo......I have had a great deal of experience in dealing with this type of problem....not giving blowjobs but fixing TMJ probs.
If your condylar cartilage is in poor shape then all is not lost.....because due to the nature of the cartilage in that area of the body there is some capacity for repair.....and even if the cartilage remains thinned, it is the balance of the muscles about the region that dictate the stress loading in the joint.
The clicking etc and the locking and pain come from the way the joint moves.....first a pivot type movement.....and then a translatory glide forward which carries the condyle over the condylar emminence. When the fibrocartilagenous pad in the joint, which normally fills the space, becomes swollen, it gets caught up in the movement....rather like a rug getting caught up under a door.....gathers up a ridge and then hops over causing the click. The cartilage normally remains held back in the joint by posterior ligaments.....but when this process has gone on for a while, they become stretched....and slackened, compounding the problem.
Now while the cartilage remains compressed and swollen you just keep aggravating the problem...but if you have a bite plate/sleeping and daytime splint which holds the jaw backwards, and separates the teeth to rest the joint...then the cartilage settles down and repairs/regrows to a degree, and the posterior ligament has a chance to shorten and restore control of the joint. This process takes about 12 weeks constantly wearing of a splint. Just wearing a night splint does not do the trick, and having a splint that doesn't decouple the lower and upper jaw and glide the jaw backwards to rest the ligament doesnt either.
Now that is just part of the problem...because there is a close relationship between the biomechanics and function in the upper cervical spine and the jaw function. Everytime you swallow you bite....and you swallow saliva involuntarily about 2000 to 2500 times a day. Each time you bite.....if your occlusion is wrong, due to TMJ dysfunction, dental imbalance, or recurrent neck dysfunction, then you send a distorted barrage of information from the jaw and teeth to the spinal and brain centres associated with muscle control in the neck and jaw. This is what causes most of the pain...and compounds the misery of having a sore joint for a start off!
Unfortunately the very best dental/orthodontic work/approach may not settle your problem if this is the case.....and to stabilise and restore normal balance in the area requires the help of a Chiropractor versed in Applied Kinesiology, and preferably one with experience in the complex relationship between orthodontic problems and chiropractic problems. There is an American by the name of Bob Walker who has developed a way of approaching this type of imbalance.....he is both Chiropractic and Orthodontic Board certified and lectures extensively world wide. He calls his system of approach "Chirodontics". Check it out on the web...he should list all the chiropractors, orthodontists, and dentists who have attended his seminars and those certified to work in this way on his site. There should be someone near you.....they tend to work in pairs (functional orthodontist or dentist and a chiroprator) because both deliver different and integrated parts of the solution.
I have dealt with dozens and dozens of these problems successfully.
I've even had women who complained that fellatio was the aggravating factor, and while that probably didn't do great things for the shape of my shorts, I am sure any good professional who understands just how painful and crippling this type of problen can be, will rise above it (if you'll excuse the atrocious pun)
Failing finding anyone on Walkers Chirodontic list....at least see a reputable Chiropractic Applied Kinesiologist.
If you are interested I can pvt you a contact number for your country.
Good luck
Clams

Re: TMJ & BJ's
AMYROO, my girl has the same problem and for a long time it frustrated both of us. We tried everything and one thing that worked better than most was a candy flavored mouth piece that makes it easier for her to keep her mouth open without straining her jaw. She has had several jaw surgeries and nothing works, so don't go through a bunch of medical pain just to have the same problem and a large bill. Get good with your hand and be creative when he orgasms and it will be a pleasurable experience.

Re: TMJ & BJ's
My wife has TMJ and loves to suck cock, so we experimented. This will call for some trust but it worked for us. We found a position that worked well.
I lie on my side, she is postitioned on her side (head on the edge of the pillow so there is no neck strain), then I gently face fuck her. Smooth strokes, quick strokes don't have to be deep and the lack of motion on her part makes it so her muscles are less tense. She can last as long as we want to go this way, either until I cum or until we decide to fuck instead!
I am not long but I do have some girth, so I have to go a bit shallow to keep her from opening too wide but the motion of my hips enhances things for me so I don't need as much in the way of stimulation.
Maybe give this a try sometime. but if you really don't LIKE to give BJ's, fuck, just don't do it. Substitute anal instead. Or get some really good lube and specialize in a two handed HJ. Manufacture your own Pearl Necklace.
