for console i would have to say that ffx was in my top 5 whereas i still have yet to find a rpg on comp to compare with the replay value of diablo 2. You can stop and come back 1 year later and still really enjoy it

I thought KOTOR was a totally sweet RPG, and I don't really even like RPGs. I'm more of the FPS type.

PC: Morrowind. Hands down. Although it's not exactly "recent", it's still one of the prettiest, deepest, most fun RPGs I've played in a long while.

Console: Definitely KOTOR. There haven't been a whole lot of quality console RPGs lately, but KOTOR kicks my ass.

I am trying to will myself to play morrowwind - most probably wont. Baulders Gate 2 is the best I've ever played, closely followed by Neverwinter Nights. But Seriously Baulders Gate 2 Pants Down p00ning everything else.

PC: Morrowind, Arx Fatalis, SW:KOTOR (cause it's console version was uglier, less characters and so on), Gothic II.

Console: Huh... you know what? I haven't played a good console RPG since Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 if you're some sort of l337 h4x0r moron)... all these modern console RPG's are just repeating the Hollywood trend of taking a classic and reformulating it so the public will think it's new and fresh.

the best recent rpg was FFX, other wise have to go back to FFVII, i havent enjoyed any other rpg's. anyone got suggestions?

I dont usualy like RPG's but FFX was actually really good. If you havent played it yet go try it out. KOTOR was awesome and i dont like starwars. HK-47 meatbags!

I loved the KOTOR games. Best RPG games in my mind. I am really looking forward to Jade Empire on XBox which comes out tomorrow. It's made by the same team that made the first KOTOR game. IGN is saying that it is the best RPG for XBox and might be the best game for XBox period. They gave it a 9.9, their highest score for an XBox game yet. Should be good. Check out the review at IGN.
