Independant Investigations found that the fire was deliberatly started by the Davidians, who had threatened mass-suicide by fire weeks before during negotiations. The only people who shot Davidians as they escaped were the more fanatical Davidians. The sleep deprivation and gas were meant to be non-leathal ways of forcing surrender. The gas, thanks to heavy winds, was far too dispursed to have been flamable, and didn't even cause much discomfort to the Davidians. Davidian survivors often had lighter fluid and petrol on their hands or clothes. This was found by the INDEPENDANT investigation, yet many Righters still see this as some Clinton-Reno evil mass murder conspiracy. Clinton and Reno did a very good job in this scenario really. They can't be blaimed for a maniac's enforced suicide.

Imagine if Bush had been in power for Waco. ATF has a warrent to inspect, is opened fire upon, seige begins. Negotiations begin. On day 8, Bush orders the FBI to storm the compound since they're not complying fast enough. A situation similar to Russia's recent school hostage scenario happens, and countless innocents are killed in a brutal firefight. That's all just a guess, but what does everyone THINK Bush would've done in power differently from Clinton/Reno or from my example there?

The Waco seige tactics were non-leathal and aimed at forcing a casualty-less surrender of armed TERRORISTS holding HOSTAGES! The terrorists enforced a mass-suicide/homocide that sadly couldn't be prevented. You forget how many people were evacuated from the building before and after shit hit the fan by those "murderous" government agents.
