Alright man, I'm not gonna argue. I never said it was their fault. I guess in some vague way if you take all kinds of things into account, then sure, maybe I did say that.... but then, in that case, I also said that Bush played Barney in Icecapades.

davemo2us, please explain where did you get the idea Jimi was blaming bush for SS. Jimi simply stated that he was lieing to the American public about SS and trying to force his reform on the American people by making them think that we will not be able to pay for SS in a very short amount of time. As the report shows, bush is lieing because there are still about 75 years left before even 2/3 of that bill will be due, and hopefully there is still some hope remaining in Congress for those of us that will be alive that year....

*ok, bush is telling the truth about how much money is due, but he is lieing by how he sensationalizing it to push his reform throw as fast as possible, conviently before any questions are raised.

If I remember right...the democrats were pushing for SS reform during Clinton's term because it was in trouble. I think it's rather silly for them to do that then and now say there isn't a problem.

There is a difference in wanting a reform, and lying to get a particular reform. My point wasn't actually in the statement that a reform is necessary, but in the avenue taken to get said reform. Of course change is needed, but just explain that change is needed. Don't manipulate facts to get it. I know that's a political thing, but lying shouldn't be a politic on either side. I have a big problem with politicians who A. lie, and B. talk shit about the other side to get votes.

Yes, I know I was for Kerry, and he talked shit about Bush, but what were my other choices?
