The Fat Man and the Impending Doom,

A fat man leading a group of people out of a cave on a coast is stuck in the mouth of that cave. In a short time high tide will be upon them, and unless he is unstuck, they will all be drowned except the fat man, whose head is out of the cave. [But, fortunately, or unfortunately, someone has with him a stick of dynamite.] There seems no way to get the fat man loose without using [that] dynamite which will inevitably kill him; but if they do not use it everyone will drown. What should they do?

This is pretty twisted. But, I'd do my best to discover other options first... I'd be checking the structure of the cave walls and how hard the rock is. If there was a chance I could make the wall structurally weak enough to push the fatman through without killing him I'd risk that. If their were no other viable option then he has to be sacrificed for the many...

If he farts hard enough he might propell himself out of the hole. But if he does that while someone is trying to light te dynamite, then everone will die from the resulting explosion. If none of the above, then light it, stick it, and FIRE IN THE "HOLE" ha ha

Spock said that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one or the few which seems to be the underlying theme here. Yet here you have a group of people along with a stick of dynamite and the only way they can figure out is to blow up the fat man??? Also, it does not mention if anyone asked the fat man if he wanted to be blown up. Maybe he is willing to sacrafice himself and save the group therfore making the whole point mute. If not he is selfish and should be blown up! Live long and prosper.

why dont you tell the fat man your gonna blow his fat ass, take the fuse off the dynamite stick the dynamite up his ass and light the now removed fuse in your hand.

as he is so fat he wont be able to turn around to see the dupe and will think he is about to undergo the most extreme colonic irrigation known to man.

The fat dude will be so scared there is a 93.89% chance he will empty his bowels and bladder, therefore reducing his girth and letting him pop out.

Plus if that fails the little bit of fuse left could be used to actually go through with it.

If he is stuck now he will be stuck later, so he will die in the end of starvation, dehydration and exposure. dynamite is the kind thing to do.
