Freedom
"The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world."
This sounds like a message that would come from Martin Luther King Jr. However, it came from our President today during his speech. I find it odd that Democrats won't support freedom for people that want it all over the world. The Democrat's call this idea the "Republican's destructive agenda." President Bush said if you want to be free, we will help you. I mean isn't this how we got our start, when we asked France for help against England. Could someone explain to me how it is seen as "destructive" (Nancy Pelosi) to help people realize a dream, just like we did in the Civil Rights movement.

Re: Freedom
Freedom at the cost of what? Our world liberation is causing hundreds of thousand of civilian death. Why don't we ask the families of the victims of our bombs of it's worth the cost of their freedom.

Re: Freedom
You are right, Freedom doesn't come without a price. I'm sure different families would have different viewpoints. But if freedom is desired isn't there no price worth paying? There are always unintended casualities of wars, this is a reality. But you didn't answer my question, why do the Democrats champion efforts for freedom for some people, but not this quest of Bush to bring Freedom to the darkest corners of the world.

Re: Freedom
Freedom is NOT Free! It never has been and it never will be. And that SUCKS!
I serve my Country, and have been for over 24 years. I will serve as long as I can.
As for HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS INNOCENT CIVILIANS being killed by us, where does that number come from?
We have killed civilians, I can not deny that. It is not intentinal, nor planned. But it does happen. As for our Military, we attck the military that we are fighting against.
We cannot control who they attack or kill.
For the innocent civilians that die, I am sorry. But for the scum bag murdering terrorist shits, I am GLAD!

Is it worth their freedom? Yes. We lost quite a few men during our revolution for our freedom, but do you think that they would be saying, "The freedom we won was not worth our lives."? No, they wouldn't say that. Freedom has a price, but that price is always less than not being free.

Re: Freedom
I really like W., but this is problem with that statement: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are our allies, neither are free. Will forcing democracy on these two countries make a safer world? Not for Americans because the anti-american forces oppose these regimes. Hiding behind the banner of "liberator" is all fine and dandy now, but what happens 6 months from now when very little in Iraq has changed, the casualty rate is the same or higher and his approval rating is lower than the last episode of "Ellen". Will he be so idealistic then, or will he cut and run, killing this coutries credibility for the next half-century.
