Why Republicans want to dominate the world.

Why do Republicans feel that it is their place to shove their ideas down other peoples' throats at all times? Why do Republicans feel it is their place to change the world all the time? Why do Republicans think that ever country should be just like them?

Re: Why Republicans want to dominate the world.

Well, to answer your first question, all parties do it because all parties are trying to get their message across. I mean you can make it sound bad by saying it that way, but parties are constantly looking for more votes. The next two questions are tied to on another I think, and it basically comes down to not having everyone being Republican, but every country should be able to enjoy free elections, speech, religion, etc. Granted it's got plenty of problems as you can clearly see in our country, but we're the most prosperous and powerful country on this planet and as far as we know (I think) there is no greater form of government. . . unless you could somehow enforce communistic culture but as you probably know, that leads to greed, power, corruption and on and on. Then again, enforcing something through govenment control makes it totalitarian.

Edit - first post, please don't kill me

Yes, but Republicans are the worst. And I'm not exactly ANTI-Republican.... but they do, as a party, tend to force their ideas more than any other party.

That's because we know we're right. Just playin. . . I'm not really sure why that might be. If you can give some examples I might understand more. With the drastic attention to media and the general liberal spin put on the majority of what people see, I'm surprised you're making this statement. I'm not saying you're wrong, it just seems to me every news station spins things in favor of the Democratic Party.

Re: Why Republicans want to dominate the world.

Every news station does spin things to the left snowman. Well, except Fox, that is pretty much center.

Jimi, Republicans tend to work through legislation, democrats impose their views on everyone through the courts. Roe v. Wade, US v. Miller, to name a few. Saying that the Republicans are trying to take over the world and shove their views on everyone else is just plain ignorant.

It's not ignorant, it's realistic. And they use scare tactics. Fox is FAR from center. I can't believe anyone would even say that. Republicans even know they're right--winged. There are more centered, and more left-wing, but Fox is far from center.

That's because the Republicans have been the minority party since the Great Depression. Only recently have they gain control over the gov't and they feel they have some catching up to do. The Dems have FDR's New Deal, LBJ's Great Society, and Clinton's New Economy. The Republicans have Nixon's Watergate, I like Ike and Reagan's huge budget deficit. There isn't much for them to boast about except for foreign policy. They aim to change that.

Man, get off my ass already and post something that's not slander, not name-calling, something that actually means something. People like you are giving republicans a bad name, and you keep on going with it. I'm not anti-republican. I'm also not a Democrat. I'm independant.

Your opinion is that they are right-winged, but nothing that I've seen from them is particularly right winged. You may be confused about it because of left news stations like CNN, CBS, and ABC.

It is ignorant because you're acting as if what they do is much worse than the dems. The democrats have imposed their "morals" through court cases which have led to things like legalized abortion; the persistance of the NFA and other anti-gun and pro-police legislation leaving millions broke, crippled, or dead; and restricted free speech such as the case with the Philidelphia 4.

Fox is definitely more rightward leaning than center and I’m damned happy it is. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to watch it for about 10 hours a day and listen to their coverage. O’Reilly and the others on Fox who try and say that they report with out any bias are kidding themselves. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, I love it. It’s about time conservatives got a news outlet that is friendly to us. With most publications and stations being democrat friendly it is nice to get someone to report from a different angle.

Re: Why Republicans want to dominate the world.

Um, I havent even looked at this thread until right now and feel it violates the rules of this forum.

I am insulted at the generalization of this topic and am both republican and do NOT want to shove anything down anyone's throat.

Further I feel it is hypocritical of Jimi, the thread starter, being as though he jumps in everyone's topics and shoves his opinions down our throats all the time.

Topic closed.
