Avalon release
Microsoft released a beta version of the Avalon graphics system being developed for Longhorn today. It'll run on both XP (sp2) and Server '03 and can be downloaded from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en The interesting thing to me about this is that MS seems to be treating the entire Longhorn project as nothing but a testbed for XP updates. Instead of a new OS, we may see an "SE" release like we did for Win98. In any event, have fun playing with the new toys!! |
