Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
"Former US president Bill Clinton said in October during a visit to Portugal that he was convinced Iraq had weapons of mass destruction up until the fall of Saddam Hussein, Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Manuel Durao Barroso said late Thursday."
"The threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real"
-John Kerry; Iraq Speech October 9, 2002
It appears that the leaders of the Democratic Party were also wrong.

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
Well after reading most of your things, and other things not relating to WMD's. You are obviously intelligent but you do like to blantly not remember information about how the Democratic Party believed the exact same thing, and in fact if John Kerry had has his way we would have been at war with Iraq around 1998

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
No, I've never disregarded anything that Kerry or anyone else said on the matter. I did, however, mention where they got their information. Rumsfeld was a key player in both of the last presidential tenures, as was Cheney. Bush also got his information from the same sources, however, he has more interest in warfare in Iraq for a number of reasons. And now, all anyone can really say is, "Oops, we done fudged up!" It'll be a cold day in hell before that happens. :happycow:
Kerry voted to give Dubya power to go to war if it was necessary. However, it is proven more and more that this war was more-or-less an unecessary war. As I've said, Saddam wasn't a good guy. However, this US invasion is unwarranted, and has been illegal since the get-go.

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
Yeah, we all know saddam was fucking around with the inspectors, playing the game, trying to keep his neighbors under control with threats of WMD's and that he had a weapons program going on still. But that little game ended after we went in.
So if thats true or the fact that they were moved to another country still means we were justified. Sanctions just didnt work with this guy, and they never would.
And before people start crying aobut how many civilians died under the sanctions that didnt stop saddam from building palaces or bribing french and russian officials.
Everything was just fine over there, it wasnt a powder keg or nothing.
Sarcasim mode off.

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
They were trying to get the sanctions lifted for a reason. Had they been doing all of this illegal sinister James Bond nemesis shit, why would they have been trying so hard to get sanctions lifted, that again were supposed to be lifted in 1996. Come on, this is a far stretch by anyone's imagination!

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
Jeremy, I think you are HIGHLY mistaken. Kerry never voted for war before Bush was in office. THAT'S how I explain that.

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
KERRY: "I think there is a disconnect between the depth of the threat that Saddam Hussein presents to the world and what we are at the moment talking about doing. ... [T]hen we have to be prepared to go the full distance, which is to do everything possible to disrupt his regime and to encourage the forces of democracy." ABC’S COKIE ROBERTS: "And does that mean ground troops in Iraq?" KERRY: "I am personally prepared, if that’s what it meant." (ABC’s "This Week," 2/22/98)
He didn't vote on it, because it wasn't brought up, but by his own admission he wanted to commit troops in 1998

Re: Search for WMD in Iraq has ended.
If that's what it means. If it gets down to it, anyone would have wanted to have been prepared. The fact of the matter is, there was no distinct threat, and even if Kerry HAD wanted to send troops in then and there, it would have been unjustified.
