Should Matt Leinart Go Pro??
So with all the success at USC should Leinart go and enter the NFL draft. Or should he stay put and go for another Heisman and another National Title?
The way I look at it is that he's a hot prospect. I don't think he can get any hotter. With teams like Miami and Chicago, maybe even San Fran looking for a future QB to lead them he's a lock for a top three pick.
If I was him i'd go. I wouldn't risk an off season or an injury. There really is nothing he needs to prove in the NCAA.
But what do you think?

Re: Should Matt Leinart Go Pro??
If it was another team besides USC and another coach, Pete Carroll, I'd say give me that extra $11 million signing bonus and put me in the pros.
But it's USC, a GREAT school and a once in a lifetime team that has a chance to be completely together again for one more season.
Talk is that the 49rs are going to court Carroll STRONG. However, I think Carroll has more love for the college game than the pro game. What he's done to the SC football program is amazing. I doubt he and everyone else is ready to call it quits after a 36-3 three season back to back championship and dual Heisman winning run. He's created a dynasty.

Take the money and run! NCAA football ain't nothing but slave labor anyway. He wouldn't 1% of his worth to USC unless he was paid Clarette-Style

Re: Should Matt Leinart Go Pro??
I don't think he should even have much to think about... the only consideration would be whether or not he's high in the draft, and after winning two national championships, and the way he has played... he'll be high in the draft... he can't risk injury and then not get the money.
Plus hes already won the Heisman, and 2 national championships, what else is there to do in college football?

Re: Should Matt Leinart Go Pro??
Leinart has nothing left to do in the NCAA double, he should definetly enter the draft. Also If he stays he runs the risk of getting injured and never making it to the NFL

Re: Should Matt Leinart Go Pro??
He should probably leave, but I'm all for athletes playing out their commitment to the school. It's important for college athletics that players like Leinart stay, to build thier legend. The younger players see what he's doing, and the respect he's getting and may want to follow suit. The only time I think it's okay to leave early is if there is a financial need, and with Leinart, I don't think there is. Basically it comes down to the multi-million contract or 2 Heisman Trophies and 3 National Championships. If he did this, he'd easily be the greatest college quarterback of all-time, and perhaps the greatest college player ever. I think the glory of a dynasty and fun of college should come before the money.

Re: Should Matt Leinart Go Pro??
Leinart has accomplished everything college football has to offer. He's a guaranteed first round pick and it would be extremely foolish if he doesn't leave and take the money. He can always go back to school once his NFL career is over to finish getting his degree (not that he'd need it if he manages his money correctly).
