Is it possible to transfer xbox files
I was wondering if there was any other way to transfer files from one xbox to another without using those tiny memory cards or some mod that I dont have for the console. I would also like to know if it is possible to transfer music files in mp3 format from your computer to the xbox to save through a router. Thanks.

Re: Is it possible to transfer xbox files
It is all possible but as far as i know it requires a modchip. Sending files from xbox to xbox as in saves or what? But "my friend" connects to his xbox through ftp and he has a modchip and he can send music, saves, and "other" files.

Re: Is it possible to transfer xbox files
I think, and let me stress, i think, you can just swap hard drives. Otherwise, it does require a mod chip. MS did come out with a program, some kind of media thing for the xbox that would allow it to connect to a pc via router or crossover cable. However, I don't think it will copy xbox files. To do this via ftp thru router or pc, you need two modded xboxes

Re: Is it possible to transfer xbox files
Me = Semi Expert
Basically you are going to have to mod your system one way or another to truly be able to transfer files from an Xbox to a PC or an Xbox to an Xbox. There are two main ways of doing this, hard modding (mod chip) or soft modding (software based mod). I don't trust my ass to soldering, so I soft modded my Xbox, which isn't easy either, but was easier for me. By using various exploits and programs you can have your Xbox boot other software such as an FTP program which you can transfer files to. Xbox transfers are incredibly fast compared to that of my PS2, exceeding 8,000 KB/s where PS2 transfers are around 400 KB/s (both wired).
Because of various protections, simply swapping the hard drives will not work. Each hard drive and Xbox has it's own ID and lock to it. If a hard drive is not 'locked' with the same information from the target Xbox, it will not run properly.
An excellent resource for this stuff is http://www.xbox-scene.com
