Lovely, two bombs lost by airport security

Ok, so a few weeks ago I saw an article about how a French anti-terrorist group (Group d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale: GIGN, I have respect for them, but no offense: they simply do not compare to British SAS or American Delta/SEALs) was conducting an excercise and literealy lost real (if I understand the article correctly) plastic explosives that were supposed to be sniffed out by a dog but was picked up by baggage handlers before hand. http://www.guardian.co.uk/france/st...1367287,00.html

So I'm thinking, ok, just a mistake: it happens every once and a while, but THEN I see this

Any opinions anyone? I mean, are we making any real gains towards being safer against terrorists? Even if a terrorist were to get a bomb on an airplane, let's hope that woudl be the worst s/he would be able to do. I'm too tired to think of anything else

Not too comforting... at least they weren't real bombs, and at least our enforcement agencies are *trying* to get better

Re: Lovely, two bombs lost by airport security

2 things....

1. At least they found the bomb. The article didnt say if they knew it was a plant by the supervisor or not. If they knew it was a plant then it was no big deal that they lost it.... if not then yes

2. I know personally that the airports have been having tough times. Many are short staffed due to a change in budget. So blame the same gov. that created the TSA for not funding the TSA as much. And you know being a college student i have heard plenty about how much money Bush spends, i hear it all the time.... but obviously he is still worried about the bduget somewhat and making cuts in areas that may not be smart
