Alright, basically I have my own reasons for not wanting to smoke weed. I've been looking into eating weed, and I'd like to know if anybody knows about this in detail.

I've been told that weed has a waxy coating that prevents it from being dissolved completely if taken straight, unbaked. I don't know the validity of that, so if someone could help me out that would be super. :wiggle:

Also, what is the difference in the high you experience (to those who have done both eating and smoking), how long does it last, and would you advise it or not? Any extra information you know about this would be awesome.

EDIT - I'm thinking of eating UNBAKED weed. I'll eat baked stuff only if I have to, it's just more of a hassle to make.

You can eat weed and it will get you high. The taste/texture leaves something to be desired though. Think of Goo-balls sold by people at concerts, they are just no-bake cookies with pot in them. I couldn't tell you how long it lasts though, usually at those events, were I ate Goo-balls, I was on a multitude of things over the course of the night.

Haha, yeah.

If I were to do this (still deciding) I'm going to probably eat the weed within something else to cover the taste.

If I haven't done weed before, how much should I do? Is there a difference between the amount you need to eat vs. the amount you need to smoke to get the same high?

We used to make butter back in college and used it on everything... Toast in the morning... muffin in the after noon or even a quick pick me up before we went out.. here is our recipe...
The first step in cooking magical cannabis-laced foods is extracting the cannabinoids (THC, CBD, and many many more) from the plant matter, usually in a oil/fat/butter-based solution, since the cannabinoids do not readily dissolve in water. My best recipe was a method for doing this that we have not seen mention anywhere else. We got it from a little book called _The Art and Science of Cooking with Cannabis_, by Adam Gottlieb, orignally published in 1974. Gottlieb calls the product of the extraction `CANNABUTTER'.

The procedure is actually very simple. We brings a pot of water to a rolling boil, then puts a small amount of butter in the water. Quickly, the butter melts, and mixes in with the water because the whole mixture is at a rolling boil.

Then we put the grass in and boil it. Usually about a 1/4 ounce of regular dro... If you are using mexi use about 1/2 plus with mexu be sure to remove all sticks and stems and seed bullshit... Now all the grass is whirling around with the water and butter, and get this: The cannabinoids dissolve into the butter, while most of the nasty flavors and gook dissolve into the water. stir the stuff regularly. After cooking the grass like this for a while (say, half an hour), the kitchen really smells incriminating. strain out the spent plant matter, squeezes all the juice out of it, and put the liquid in the fridge.

A few hours later, the mixture is cool enough that the cannabutter has solidified on the surface. It looks kind of scummy, but its just enchanted butter. scoop it out and retains it in a bowl or a jar. The grass-nasty water is thrown out.

The cannabutter can be used just like butter, in brownies, on garlic bread, or mixed with honey on your finger!

Although this method takes longer than the usual saute-n-strain method, it has several advantages:

* As explained above, the nasty shit is separated and removed from the fun shit.

* You can make stronger cannabutter than by saute-ing, because you can cook more grass in the same amount of butter, due to the extra volume of the water.

* There is no danger of burning the precious, price-inflated, hard and dangerous to obtain herb, as there is when you saute, because the water keeps the whole mixture at boiling temperature!

Anyway, that green gunk is butter, and you can spread it on your toast, make a sandwich with it, or cook with it. About two "pats" of butter stone me pretty well, but your milage may vary. I usually try to disguise the taste with something like a pepperoni and garlic pesto cheese on rye sandwich, but you tastes probably vary...

seriously its easy... I have many many ways to cook it.. but this method is by far the most easy and can be used on many things... really cool thing we did many times was take the butter and use it to make pizza dough... worked of so well.

yeah, we used to cook with it all of the time though never used that method. We did use the old sautee method - basically clarifying some butter with weed in it, then using that in whatever recipe.

Our favorites we're cookies and brownies. Kind of cliche, but awesome. For me it was always a little different type of buzz - more full body and less cerebral. Freakin' love it.

I've also had some spectacular pasta a few times that had weed cooked in the sauce. You couldn't taste it at all but the effect was definitely there. Funny story about a buddy's dad and some leftover "rasta pasta" in the refrigerator . . .

you lose mad THC when you fry it... THC melts at like 140 degrees... Meaning you would cook it all way very fast..

btw, what is considered a "small amount of butter" (to go along with 1/4th)

Cleaned Cannabis (no stems, no seeds)

Spread peanut butter thickly on two crackers. Put enough cannabis on both crackers for about a joint on top of the peanut butter. Put the two crackers together to form a sandwich. Put on foil and bake at 300F for 20 minutes. Let cool and eat.

As long as its pretty good weed then those directions should be ok, if its shwag I would use a little more weed.

An addition to talguy's great recipe:
The "butter" produced through the process can also be mixed with cocoa and other miscellaneous ingredients to make cannabis chocolate. You can look on the side of the hershey's cocoa mix box to find the recipe (minus the cannabis) for chocolate sauce. Just add two parts more of cocoa mix than it says to and when the sauce is made, put it in a tupperware and refrigerate. In about 2 hours give or take you will have a delicious hunk of cannabis chocolate. Do with it what you will, just don't microwave it.

ps-i recommend using fire buds; schwag ends up tainting the chocolate and its just a bitch to pick thru it, especially if its mexi dirt. have fun

I used to steep a small bud in a cup of coffee or hot tea for about 5 or 6 minutes. The heat realeases the binder for THC. Chew on the bud while drinking the beverage, it makes for a mellow and LONG lasting buzz.

I've heard of people taking a bit of weed, wadding it up into a little ball and putting it inside a little bit of raw cookie dough. Is that the same as the "Goo-Balls"? Is it as effective?
