Re: best MMORPG
As far as the WoW/EQ2 debate goes, I've played both but my life (familyand job) makes WoW a better fit for me. That said, I think if I had more time to play, I would probably prefer EQ2...completing some of their quests felt like more of an accomplishment.
I sometimes still miss the original Asheron's Call event even though it pales in comparison to MMORPGs available today.

Re: best MMORPG
Used to play Ragnarok Online and enjoyed that a lot. I tried World of Warcraft on my friend's account and that was also very addicting. Now i'm just waiting for Guild Wars considering i don't have a job to support the Pay 2 Play bullcrap.

I'm not into the pay2play scams either. I played Maple Story for about 6 months. It's a ton of fun if you like old-school platforming games, but the level grind got to be too much for me (at least 10 hours of killing the same thing on the same map to level up once). Now I'm just waiting for Guild Wars to be released. I played in a couple of the beta events, and it's incredibly fun. My favorite part about it is that there's a low level cap, so the game focuses on skill rather than on hours played.

Re: best MMORPG
my first MMORPG was Asheron's Call, played from late '01 to nov. 04. Dropped AC1 for WoW. Also tried AO, DAoC, and AC2, all kinda sucked... AO was fun and original for me.. but after 40-50 levels the grind got to be too much. WoW owns tho!

Re: best MMORPG
If anyones looking for a pretty fun text based free one.... go to www.evernight.com
I've been playing for like 8 years now and its still the best free game i have ever played. its a text based war game.. but its mostly about the friends you meet. I lead a guild there (FEL) so if you want somewhere to go just look for Mickal Redwater on their messege boards.
If you like war based text games with guilds/clans you'll love this one. Plus like i said we have the most fun just kidding around in our war chats and stuff. (plus its got quite some diversity, my guild alone has germans, austrialians, americans, canadians, ect. and even female

Re: best MMORPG
I liked Dark Age of Camelot, but for some reason I couldn't just stick with one character, after level 38 or so I'd have to make new ones.

Re: best MMORPG
Im switching from Everquest 2 to WoW. I vowed I wouldnt do it...but I caved. WoW is less complex, has larger worlds, and is more fun.
