I have a problem,Ive asked alot of people and no one has been able to help me. Im using win98 2nd edition,pentium3,56k modem, dial up connection. My problem is,when im on the internet with kazaa lite not running, everything is fine. When i open kazaa lite, after afew mins or after an hour or so,I suddenly cant connect to any websites, kazaa wont connect. When I check my staus at the bottom right,I notice my modem is not recieving any bytes. The only way to get everything running properly is to disconnet AND restart. Then only when i reconnect can it connect to websites. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE
HELP!!!!

Re: Kazaalite problem

How many files are you downloading at the same time? You might not enough memory to run Kazaa and websites, since its an older computer. I don't know what would help, but I kind of have the same problem with Limewire.

Re: Kazaalite problem

Could be the way Kazaa is set up, check your settings on it and set the bandwidth maximum amount down lower

amsterdam, firstly i haven't individually flamed anyone, and that's your personal interpretation. and considering your status says "whore" i find that ironic and rather amusing.
secondly nub is a different word to n00b. you nerdlinger tech nazi
thirdly i never said win98 and kazaa don't work, i said it was unreliable on win98. kazaa is a simple 3-4mb program, win98 is a dated operating system, nuff said?

Re: Kazaalite problem

Ok before this goes to far, just cool it now both of you.

As for the problem, start with the basics; virus scan, spywre scan, ScanDisk, DiskDefrag.
Make sure the bandwidth limit for Kazaalite is set low and that the number of downloads and uploads are limited to 1 or 2. And do not use KL's SpeedUp tool which goes out looking for more people to leech the files from.

As for conflicts between 98 and kazaa, that's the not the problem nearly as much as it is with the dial-up connection. This is from personally experence of having the sme set up, only it was Win98 non-SE, but made even worse with a 28k modem.

Do all the surfing you need to do first, then let KL do it's thing and while it is go; eat lunch, clean your room, mow the yard (well shovel the walk this time of year) or whatever else.
