Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
see that is a weak reason, that can be said about pedophiles, between animals and humans, the it makes me happy reasoning doesn't really fly to well

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
They don't need a reason. According to the doctrines of this country, they are allowed to do what they feel makes them happy, end of story. No reason is necessary. It is none of your business. It is only the business of the two who participate in the acts, as I said. It's not the same as monkey and human, because.... the monkey doesn't have the mental capacity to completely understand the situation. Same with Pedophilia. Homosexuality is between two consenting adults, and that's the only reason THEY need. They don't need to justify themselves to you, or anyone else for that matter.
Edit: And, murderers ARE allowed to get married.

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
yes but i am not saying they can't love some one of the same sex but when it comes to legalizing marriage it does become my business, because then it shows that i somehow accept that kind of lifestyle and i don't, i can accept the person and not discriminate or be mean to them but when it comes to if i am going to support it or not i am not going to support it, i voted to make it an amendment in the state of ohio, because that is my views on it, just because it is someone's personal life doesn't mean i can't say anything about it, people here banned public smoking, and the same thing can be said about that, and i am in no way anti homosexual at all, just that when it comes to me being allowed to voice my opinion and vote about it i am not going to support that lifestyle

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
Do you accept the fact that prostitution is legal in Nevada? Civil Union has nothing to do with your acceptance. Saying they shouldn't be allowed such IS anti-homosexual. The bottom line is, it doesn't matter whether you agree with the lifestyle or not.... it's not your lifestyle. I don't agree with swinging, I don't agree with casual sex, I don't agree with many things.... but it still happens.

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
no but those lifestyles aren't trying to legally be accepted by society, and i am all for civil unions, and to make civil unions equal if that would be possible which i doubt in todays day that it will never be equal and someone said earlier the whole "seperate but equal thing", but i am very loosely called a christian mostly because that is what i was brought up in, but do not agree with the actually machine of christianity, the reasoning i have of not supporting gay marriage is more of a procreation way of looking at it. and you are right by being anti gay marriage i am anti homosexual, i guess i am more of the type where i can oppose something but still not treat someone mean due to it, it is kinda a weird stance, but i can be on the opposite side of the line of something but not be the stereotypical gay basher and hate on them for it
btw jimi, what are your views on this, are you for gay marriages or are ya just grilling me

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
I am definitely for gay Civil Union. "A rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet." Marriage, by any creed is a Civil Union between two people. In a gay relationship, one may have the facilities for health insurance for the person and family, and the other may not. Due to a Civil Union, the insurance of the other in the union would be allowed these same benefits. It doesn't have to be in a Church, Mosque, or Temple. Marriage takes place in front of a Justice of the Peace all the time. Why not allow these couples to do what makes them happy?
By the way, I am also a Christian, but on the same token, I'm a realist. It's not my place to judge, or condemn, or anything else that a lot of Christians do. It is my place to allow people their privacy and privileges

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
we are in agreement on civil union's, and personally i think that the homosexual community should be fighting for those because i think that the religious people opposed to gay marriages will fight for the legalization of civil unions less than marriages, and it would be easier for them to get what they want out of this struggle so to speak

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
What, if any, is the fundamental difference between a civil union and marriage?

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
Gay marriages should be allowed. It's not anyones business if two people of the same gender get married, it has nothing to do with anybody but the two people.

Re: Gay Marriages (your thoughts)
Eh.
You know, if the entire hangup here is over the term "marriage", then might I propose that homosexuals do not, in fact, get married?
Marriage can remain the classic, textbook definition that all the religious zealots want it to remain, complete with a god, a church, and a guy in a dress (how gay is that!?) who'll tell you when it's okay to smooch.
Let the union between man and man, or woman and woman, become a separate entity altogether - something just as legal, just as respected and just as recognized as marriage, with all the inherent perks and detriments, but simply enough, not called "marriage".
There.
That'll get all the ridiculous semantics-hounds off everyone's backs.
All the conservative men and women out there can go to sleep at night knowing that their precious, holy institution has not been despoiled by the commingling of them dirty homos, while gays can have their cake and eat it too.
Hell, they could call it "queerriage", for all I care.
All it takes is one little amendment.
We've got 27 already - one more isn't gonna hurt; it'll just sting a little at first. Promise.

Personally, I think other peoples' relationships aren't anyone else's business. It's the people involved in the relationship.
