Sorry to be nitpickin you apart tonight Jimi, but I must dissent with you once again....
Shrooms can and will make you see things that arent there if the dose is right. Ive had full blown halluninations off as little as 1/8. Rainbows flowing out of chairs going across the room through the air, ghosts walking out of people. interior walls of tents turning into an owl sitting on a branch, I could go on all night...and this is only whats possible with low dose trips. With high doses you can see anything the mind can make up with OEV's or open eye visuals. Ive never been there though with shrooms, so i cant say from first hand experience. Cant say I even want to go there. However, things can get 10,000 times that crazy with CEV's or closed eye visuals. Literally anything the mind can think of you can actually see with your eyes closed. This is one of the best parts of tripping IMO. Do it enough and you will be able to control your CEV's with your mind...see what you wanna see, and make it do what you wanna do. Tripping is all about the mind. If you wanna see a dragon with your eyes open, you can....it just takes practice and concentration. It doesnt even take a high dose, but I would say an 1/8th minimum. A good way to start is to get the image in your sight with your eyes closed and practise making it stay there when you open them.

Ok, you have never done shrooms. Tents turning into owls? Dragons? You've read wayyy too many stories. As many times as I have EVER done shrooms... I've never gotten more than mild hallucinations. Dragons and shit are just stories. While colors and other sensory perception is amplified, bushes turning into large dancing penguins does not happen.

if it was just a joke than its all good. although you are generally correct about the fact that most people don't trip on shrooms, i personnaly have, but i have also taken a fair amout at those times so that may have been it. maybe i just overloaded my senses so to speak. sorry if i seemed lika an ass myself but i was kind of tired and tryin to make a point that drugs are never exactly the same experience for everyone. you had some good points and so did others and the most important thing is to keep an open mind, or you could have a very bad trip.

No way, I know people trip on shrooms. I have tripped on shrooms. A trip isn't necessarily a hard core hallucination. You see things, you just don't see things that aren't there.... like tents turning into owls.

He just obviously hasnt done shrooms or any psychadellic enough to know what they are capeable of. You arent gonna see crazy shit like that with every trip but it is definately possible. Its all about your setting and what kind of trip you tell your mind to have. You would laugh at how hard I was laughing when you told me I read way to many stories. Get a clue. If you dosed enough on shrooms you would know that you could make your mind see anything you want. If someone doesnt know this then thats when you know someone is an amateur and/or only trips socially and hasnt let their mind go to all the realms possible.

Haha, I have dosed PLENTY on shrooms, MANY times. You can't just pick and choose what you see. You typically get halos, auras, amplified perception, and it's a great trip... but you don't see fucking break-dancing giraffes smoking marlboros and jerking off.

And, don't try to turn my logic around on me, it won't work. You're probably not old enough to even be in this site, and your are regurgitating what you've read. Next, you're going to come in with another erowid story. Why don't you make it easy on us and introduce a bibliography here of where you get your assinine stories.

And you are right. A normal person wont see those things their first time tripping. The only possible way they could see them is with CEV's. (Have you ever seen them?) But what many people dont understand, obviosly including you, is that you can see what you would see in a CEV with your eyes open. Its all about your mindset. You cant make yourself see a fucking break-dancing giraffe smoking a marlboro on command....but you could possibly make yourself see a giraffe, that melts into a waterfall, that splashes into a fish. Dose by yourself sometime. I bet you never have. Then try meditating and playing mind games with yourself. The above things I mentioned (owl) was dosing on around an 1/8. Eat a 1/4 or a half by yourself and you will have some stories 1000 times better than that to write here with.
