The Giants didn't even make the playoffs but onve again Bonds wins the NL MVP? With so much other great performances in the NL this year did he deserve it?? Here is some stats:
Bonds:
45 HR, .362 BA, 101 RBI, 129 Runs, 6 SB
Pujols:
46 HR, .331 BA, 123 RBI, 133 Runs, 5 SB
Plus thier team went to the World Series.

Re: Did Bonds Deserve 7th MVP??
You must be crazy... They have similar stats, but Barry Bonds got them with nearly 200 less at-bats. The man has turned into the greatest hitter of the last decade... and is one of the least-popular athletes in sports. If Barry was more of a nice-guy, we would never even ask these kinds of questions. That being said, we'll have to see how the steroid stuff goes.... He has urine samples on file though, so if they went back and found he did take those drugs, you certainly would have heard about it. I think he just finally got his act together and started focusing on the game. It's not unthinkable that he hit the gym and started waiting for better pitches to further his career... I was weak at sports as a kid and around 21 I developed a killer instinct and became very competitive, although too late. Perhaps he was just great naturally and better when he put the time in.

Re: Did Bonds Deserve 7th MVP??
Damn skippy, hippy. First, Pujols played on the best TEAM. Bonds had had no coverage, therefore they could walk him when he could hurt them. No player has commanded that much attention from opposing pitchers since the Babe. And if you even try to make an argument about it, just ask any NL pitcher, catcher or manager who they thought was the MVP. Hands down--Bonds.

Re: Did Bonds Deserve 7th MVP??
Why should a guy full of steroids be MVP anything. They atr rampant through the olympics etc, it is the honest competitors that miss getting true justice.
The records Bonds sets and the MVP titles are an insult to the true champions dead and alive.

Re: Did Bonds Deserve 7th MVP??
Whether Bonds is found guilty or not do you think he and his records will always be tainted? I think being accused can be just as hurtful or maybe more as being found guilty. Guilty or innocent people will still hold the opinion, especially those that don;t like him, that he had to use some sort of performance enhancing drugs.
But "juice" cannot make give you an eye for the ball. It may make you stronger and maybe hit it farther but it can't tell you which are balls and which are strikes. And Bonds will always be the best at that in our time, 'roids or not.

Re: Did Bonds Deserve 7th MVP??
Arod? Not sure about that but he is a very good ball player. Hopefully he'll get back into MVP stride like his last year with the Rangers.
But what I am saying is that a good hitter that hits for average cannot be built on steroids. That's a God-given talent only those like Bonds and A-Rod have.
