K19 - Widowmaker

took me half the movie to get used to Harrison Ford using a russian accent

ive allways wondered - if they are russian, why would they speak english with a russian accent? wouldnt they just speak russian?

I finally made myself watch Steven Soderberg's version of Ocean's Eleven.. not too shabby. Again, I can think of a million different people (i'm exaggerating a little) who would've played that part better than Matt Damon.
Don Cheatle- mississippi born & bred did an IMPRESSIVE British accent.. perhaps this will play in his favor and he'll get an oscar like gwen.

I'm going to have to agree with you shannon if for no other reason than brad pitt was fine as hell in those well tailored suits.

Speaking of Vin and Russian accents.. XXX .. gooooood movie. Much better than the previews allowed you to believe. Samuel L. Jackson also did an outstanding job. And that Ileyna slut chic that played his (Vin Diesel's) leading lady ROCKED THE HOUSE in the thigh high black suede embroidered boots. "Oh the things I'm gonna do for my country" lol

Tripple X was an OK movie - but it wasnt great. dont get me wrong - it was entertaining, but it was not a great movie by far. the plot was shaky - the stunts were too over the top - and the comic releif was hoaky - even if on purpose. once again hollywood proves that sex sells and between vin and his co-star - they sold a helluva lot of sex.

like i said - it was entertaining but its not gonna be an award winning timeless film - just more fodder for the masses...

and maybe the rest of the world is a herd of brainwashed ignorant consumers who watch what the boob tube tells them to watch... just maybe...

I have bad taste? Perhaps, but I am sure that a movie where the protagonist manages to pose for the camera all nice (making sure to somehow lose his shirt in the process, of course) every stunt is not I would define as "Within the realms of good taste".

Hate me if you must for stating the obvious, but XXX, which is a laughable play on the rating system as you no doubt are completely aware of, is a double-ironic term, from my perspective, being that it (The movie) serves the same function, to it's target audience, that it's name sake(The genre) does for it's target audience.

In other words, XXX is basically pg-13 porn for women.

I can understand you liking the movie, but please be candid. You like XXX for the same reason that I can watch The Mexican and Runaway bride, 2 movies that are just abyssmal trash by any stretch of conventional definitions.I like them because I want to have sex with Julia Roberts. And that's about it.

The only feasible explanation for your enjoyment for the former abomination (XXX) is not wholly unlike what I have stated about the latter (Julia Roberts movies).

The reason why the typical guy likes it, is because shit blows up in it, not to put too fine a point on it.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

yes xxx is one of those movies you might watch once and maybe another time when you're just bored off your ass, there's nothing on tv and your dvd player ate the rest of your collection! but on to better movies....I've noticed the rise in movies starring Marvel Comic charracters......(i.e Spiderman and now Daredevil and the Hulk) Right b4 The Hulk drops......be prepared for the hype and all the food turning green (chips, soda, snacks) that kind of crap....i hate when they put too much hype on a crappy movie vs...doing that for a good movie. Even though a good movie can speak for itself....As far as Daredevil goes, I don't think Mr. ex-J-lo was the right choice for that part....he's to soft looking to play the roll of daredevil....they should have chosen someone else....like ed.norton....hehe and he does look tough when he beefs up!

When I talked about XXX being a good movie, I meant entertaining. From scene one til the last one, I could not and did not get up. The action sequences were over the top, the cars *67 GTO w/purple to blue candy paint , THE MOTORCYCLES , the girls, the great looking foreign guys.. it was all lavish.. but served to be very ENTERTAINING!!!! I liked the movie. We weren't talking about any oscar winning roles, no great camera work, since it was mostly CGI.. but it was still fun to watch. AND that's that. :fingers:

Any of you people seen 25th hour yet? I'm wanting to.. but not wanting to waste the$$$$ on a shitty film.

I was supposed to see Biker Boyz too, but cuz of some technical difficulties with my ears... I didn't. Has anyone seen it yet? Was it good if you did?!?
