So, basically, history repeats itself. Let the blacklisting begin.

Re: Why Truman Defeats Dewey - and Bush Beats Kerry?
Interesting (to me anyway) side note. This past weekend, I stayed at the resort and spa in Excelsior Springs, MO that Truman stayed at the night of this Dewey-Truman '48 election.
Ok, please resume with the thread...

Very interesting article. I wonder if it will play out like that.
I'm thinking no.

Re: Why Truman Defeats Dewey - and Bush Beats Kerry?
I am a firm believer in this... I think someone is ahead, whether it be Bush or Kerry, but the media isn't letting on to it. Every poll, survey, political analyist on the news stations say it's a dead heat. Now either America is so split in two between the candidates or the media is hoping for another election like 2000. I'm assuming that fiasco was great for ratings. I think everything is a conspiracy, but in all honestly, I think that to have another event like 2000 would have to be 'set up' to happen. Such as letting people believe that things are too close to call, which would force recounts and lawsuits. Where once Florida was the big thing in the news a few months ago with 'too close to call' news stories, Ohio and Pennsylvania seem to be taking the spotlight now.
I think the media has too much power. Look at what happened to Howard Dean.

Re: Why Truman Defeats Dewey - and Bush Beats Kerry?
The problem witht he polls is that they are inaccurate. Thay are based on home telephone users. The problem witht his is that 30% of american households do not have house phones anymore they use cell phones as there primary line. Cell phones however are not in a directory to be polled. Hence, 30% of americans are not even being attempted to be polled.

Re: Why Truman Defeats Dewey - and Bush Beats Kerry?
As another note...if there is another event like in 2000 in regards to votes not being counted, I will definitely be one to cry foul. It would seem a little weird to me that 2 elections in which Bush ran would both have conspiracies behind them. Hopefully everything goes nice and smooth and there are no problems.

Not likely. If Bush wins, the Kerry camp will cry foul. If Kerry wins, the Bush came will cry foul.
Both seem to have instances where the other party tampered with the election.
If you thought all this mess was going to end after Nov. 2, you are horribly wrong. We are in this for a while. My guess, 45-60 days before we have a President
