After reading some of my posts, I've come to the conclusion that I may have been a bit aggressive in a few. For that, I apologize. I still stick by my ideas, and my 100% fact-based sources, however, on this matter, for the most part, I am throwing in the towel. I may retract that towel and jump in the ring from time-to-time, but I'm going to give the soap box as much of a break as I can.

I seen some of the posts and while I think they are a little too passionate.. i do not think they are too agressive.. remember how politics, religion, and sports are issues where most of the time no one agrees.


This post just shows how great of a man you are; even if you feel your points of view are correct or right, you acknowledge other people opinions/feelings .. I appreciate that

Just because your opinions on certain topics are firm and stern, doesn;t mean your being to agressive. Aggressiveness on certain topics in debate only shows intelligence and how strong your views are. I'm the same way, so.. I know where your coming from.

Jimi ... IMO there's no need to apologize. You're passionate about the issues you believe in and there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you keep it mature and not personal. Other's have insulted you personally and I've seen retaliate ... in my opinion that's probably the wrong way to go. The first hint that you've made your point is when they result to insults.

As far as the "rep" points/ "karma" issue, I call bullshit. The whole point of them is exactly what you were using them for. If people don't like that, they should take it up with the admin or go to another forum where rep points are not available. Seems rather childish that people are so concerned about their "cyber rep".

Again, I think you should hang around and keep posting as you have before. This forum needs two sides to create constructive and useful debate. Sure, not all of it qualifies as constructive ... but for the most part I think your contributions do.

I see no need for an apology, although I certainly respect the fact that you came out with one when you felt it was called for.

I've seen you agressively defend facts when others seem content to put their faith in misconceptions and propaganda. Standing up for what you believe in is what gave me and my girlfriend the right to vote. Standing up for truth is what enables me and my best friend to sit down at the same lunch counter.

What this world needs is more people who are willing to view things with a critical eye and not just pick and choose the things that make their opinions look good.

I say no need to apologize except to those whom you might have offended. You have not insulted me (obviously you know better bia! ) nor have i been hurt by your comments in the EOTH or elsewhere so the apology doesn't fully involve me...

The only thing that reflects poorly is when it resorts to namecalling (as Esco pointed out)....What's the old saying about never arguing with fools because from afar no one can tell them apart??....So yea, the fact that someone has to name-call or insult or rely on such things means you have done your job well.

Esco, I do not know if you are referring to my pissoff posting earlier... but in case that you do.... I agree completly with you... they are not that important... but also, when someone does that in a negative way just to piss you up without a VALID reason that is no right... I got 3 negatives in the last week without me posting something that I could call offensive or even controversial (I got one for my posting above, the guy just wanted to get even at jimmi), one of them even was because I posted a huge porn list (he said it was a mistake)...

I know that the people that I like here I have earned their respect without the need of green points... so I understand your point on that one too

Sorry Juana, I'm not familiar with the situation you described. I was actually refererring to a different discussion with different parties. But I think my point still applies.

Somebody like you is considered a valuable and trusted member of this community, despite what your rep points say or do not say. I understand you've spent some time establishing your rep and "cyber" rep here, but it's very easy for some n00b to knock your "cyber" rep for no apparent reason. That is way this forum is set up, for better or worse. What I'm saying is we should be much more concerned with your actual rep than your "cyber" rep. Your cyber rep can be manipulated, your actual rep cannot without your consent. This thread is a good example. People have come forward and expressed their support for Jimi, somebody they value, no matter what his rep points state.

My apologies everybody for the hijack ... please continue stroking Jimi.
