Re: Keep talking Teresa...
Wow...I remember she said she switched to the democratic party after the republicans said something about a veteran, and now she's trashing the first lady? Seems hipocritical to me, and very poor judgement since her husband is running for president.

Trashing the first lady? I wouldn't go that far. If anything, you were right, it's poor judgement but not meant to be critical.

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
Saying that someone "never had a real job" is a complement?
I like how she said she had "forgotten" Bush was a school teacher - as if she ever knew!

You did read the article right? She did not say it in a derogatory way, only to illustrate the differences between herself and the first lady. Yes ... she made a mistake about Bush's job history but she wasn't attacking her.
Lemme guess ...you're voting for Bush, right?

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
She was more-or-less complimentary to Laura Bush. "Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good," Heinz Kerry said. "But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things."
She was making a comparison. Granted, maybe she should have researched the comparison before making the statement, but, she said, "I don't know that she's ever had a real job..." "I don't know..."
Come on people. This is reaching. This is petty. There are so many better topics than an ill-worded statement made by a presidential candidate's wife. And not just quoting, but spinning. You'd be hard-pressed to actually get anything out of this article that is substantial.

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
I'm not reaching and trying to make it more meaningful than it is, I just think it's funny that she's such a dumba$$.
Some of you ARE delusional though in trying to spin it as if she wasn't trying to slam Laura Bush.

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
She WASN'T trying to "slam" Laura Bush. She was comparing the two, explaining why she thought SHE would make a better First-wife.

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
Either way, I am sure housewives all over America will not appreciate the pretentious woman's implications that being a stay-at-home mom doesn't qualify as a "real job."
She may not have been trying to "slam" her, but I think the comment speaks more to her mindset and personality...

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
I'm sorry but taking care of kids while it is hard, does not count as a "real" job as the way Kerry meant it. You know, a place where you go day after day and receive a paycheck for your contribution there. The comments made after Theresa had already apologized, regarding her being a mother was a spin, trying to make the matter seem worse than it was. The only thing this article identifies is that Theresa made a comparison with her and bush, in no way slammed her, but was incorrect in her comparison. She apologized for it, much more than I can say for Bush not taking blame for misleading the American people into the Iraq war. Even if it was off the informatin he had at the present time...he could still say "I'm sorry, I was misinformed"

Re: Keep talking Teresa...
1. She was making a subtle dig at Mrs. Bush....had it been true that Mrs. Bush NEVER had a "real job" before it would have been seen as a diss....I'm not a Bush fan, but she meant it in a non-favorable way....Let's be honest.
2. Taking care of a child all day IS hard work..i looked after my 2 yr old god daughter today for over 7 hours and shiiiiiiit they don't sit still, you have to keep after them, play with them, feed them, change them, et cetera...

That's how I took it.
I think it was great of Laura Bush to also react by saying "It didn't matter to me. It didn't hurt my feelings. It was perfectly all right that she apologized. She didn't have to apologize. I know how tough it is. And actually I know those trick questions."
This is still a vote for the Presidency.

I never said taking care of a child isn't hard...in fact I said that it is hard. The point is however, that when she says "real job" she meant it as a job in which you get a regular paycheck. The funny thing about this whole thing is that some advisor comes in and makes the remark about her raising a child to add some spin to the whole thing and now its gone from Theresa making a comment on her not having a viable paying job to Theresa implying that Bush raising children wasn't justified. C'mon people, yu're better than this. Don;t buy into all that bull!
