Next, you mention outsourcing. The fact that you say that effected the economy in a negative manner shows your lack of knowledge on the subject. When a company outsources its jobs, they reduce costs and, as such, increase profits. Those profits are passed along to the consumer and those who own the company (esp. if it is publicly traded).
|
Here;s your flaw...While outsourcing provides profits to the company and prices are driven down, the consumer must have the money to buy the product. This is a little hard when many towns have had thousands layed off at a time due to outsourcing. Also in time if we continue to outsource we will one day have trained these other countries so much and not have the knowledge at hand here anymore to do these taks in a time of need.

Re: Who won the debate?
Bottom line, Kerry is headed for helping the country, Bush is headed for helping himself.
A Bush ad claims Kerry’s healthcare proposals would put "big government in charge" of medical decisions. In fact, Kerry's plan would leave 97% with the insurance they have now -- while up to 27 million who aren't insured would gain coverage.
Bush's claim turns out to be based on opinions from two conservative advocates whose predictions aren't supported by neutral experts.
Bush got a laugh when he scoffed at Kerry's contention that he had received $84 from "a timber company." Said Bush, "I own a timber company? That's news to me."
In fact, according to his 2003 financial disclosure form, Bush does own part interest in "LSTF, LLC", a limited-liability company organized "for the purpose of the production of trees for commercial sales." (See "supporting documents" at right.)
New ad claims Bush inherited an economy "already in recession" and that 41 million seniors "now have access to lower cost prescriptions." Wrong on both counts.
The ad by the pro-Bush group Progress for America Voter Fund claims the economy was already in a recession when Bush took office, but the National Bureau of Economic Research (which dates business cycles) says the recession actually began in March 2001, after Bush took office in January.
The facts also get stretched when the ad claims "41 million seniors now have access to lower cost prescriptions (emphasis added)." Bush's new prescription drug benefit will cover seniors on Medicare for an extra premium of about $35 a month, but not until 2006. Even the currently available drug discount cards have been used much less than expected. Current enrollment is less than 5 million.
Bush said most of his tax cuts went to "low- and middle-income Americans" when independent calculations show most went to the richest 10 percent.
Bush could hardly have been farther off base when he said most of his tax cuts "went to low- and middle-income Americans." That's just not true.
In fact, the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center recently calculated that most of the tax cuts -- 53% to be exact -- went to the highest -earning 10% of US individuals and families. Those most affluent Americans got an average tax cut of $7,661.
These are from FactCheck. Any reply?

Re: Who won the debate?
I guess that concrete facts, when applied negatively toward a particular subject, can be considered... "exaggerations".

there is just no point in trying to argue this with you.
I am leaving this arguement because it seems to be going nowhere fast.

Re: Who won the debate?
Because there is still enough time for truth to influence votes. If no one likes the facts, that's their problem. If they don't listen to the facts, that's everyone's problem. It's amazing how many people will read the facts, and STILL decide to vote for the obvious lesser candidate on the grounds of stubborness.

Re: Who won the debate?
It's hard to support your arguments when your candidates go past the normal twisting of numbers (employed by both sides) and outright lie in obvious fashion.
Lying about having met a person...then shown on video together.
"I own a timber company?"....well yes, Mr President.
"Gosh, I just don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden".....
"I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him."
