Let's start off with Kobe and his lovely wife Venessa. How did they meet and where did she come from? You won't hear much about celebrity dates from the mainstream press. Let me start off, and please add your favorites and some strange pairs and funny matches. Born Vanessa Cornejo Ubrieta Laine on May 5, 1982, and raised in Huntingdon Beach, California. She graduated from Huntingdon Beach's Marina High School. Adopted the famed name Vanessa Bryant.

How They Met: Kobe met her at a video photo shoot and became engaged while Vanessa was still in high school. (Kobe frequently visited her school to take his girlfriend to lunch stirred up much frenzy, arm trophy Laine decided to skip her graduation ceremony to alleviate the chaos.) The couple married in April 2001 and welcomed their first child, a daughter, Natalia Diamante Bryant, on January 19, 2003 (born earlier than expected date.) Kobe and his wife reside in California.

Kobe was drafted in the first round in 1996 by the Charlotte Hornets, straight out of high school, making him the youngest player in NBA history. He was voted National High School Player of the Year by USA Today and Parade Magazine and led his high school team to the state title. Kristi Yamaguchi and Bret Hedican

Kristi's an Olympic gold medal-winning figure skating champion. She won the National Pairs Championship with Rudy Galindo in her first competitive figure skating back in 1989. Kristi went on to win nine national and world competitions, including her Olympic Gold Medal in 1992. She currently works with the organization she founded, the Always Dream Foundation . <---Just Click HereThe organization provides funding and encouragement for inspirational programs for children and adolescents. She grew up in Fremont, California.

Hedican's a defenseman (#6) for the Carolina Hurricanes. Bret graduated from North St. Paul High School in Minnesota and from St. Cloud State University. He was drafted into the NHL in 1988 by the St. Louis Blue and has since played for Vancouver, Florida and Carlolina.

How They Met:

The couple met at the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France, where he was playing for Team USA. They were married on July 8, 2000. They are expecting their first child in October 2003. The couple resides in Oakdale, Minnesota and San Francisco, California.
