Re: Who is going to win the NL Cy Young?
That's really tough. Randy Johnson is on a terrible team but has the stats if you leave out his record. Clemens is right up there but his era isn't that impressive compared to the rest. I'd like to see someone take the CY who hasn't won it.

Re: Who is going to win the NL Cy Young?
Minute Maid park is not a pitchers park. Left (especially) and Right field fences are freaky close. The only far fence is straight away center. Plus Roger Clemens made the jump to the NL and faced a ton of batters he has never faced before. I think clemens will still take it.
Code:
Peavy 2.25 14 - 6
Zambrano 2.60 16 - 8
Johnson 2.65 15 - 14
Sheets 2.80 11 - 14
Clemens 2.98 18 - 4
Ack, unless Oswalt (3.56 ERA) gets his 20th on Saturday when he is slated to pitch.... hmmmm that would be interesting.... but i dunno how much wins matter in the Cy Young. Rawr.

Re: Who is going to win the NL Cy Young?
Clemens is just a machine. He's incredible. I saw him pitch twice here in STL this year. He's just as dominating as he was in Boston when I saw him in the early 90's.
Gotta be the Rocket.
I will say this. Randy Johnson has been the best pitcher in the NL this year. He'd have 25 wins if he a decent team behind him.
But the only time a pitcher from a last place team won the Cy Young was in '72 when Steve Carlton destroyed the entire league, winning 27 games (over half of the Phillies wins that season!). Carlton led the league in every major pitching category that year except saves. I don't think we'll ever see anything like that again.

Re: Who is going to win the NL Cy Young?
You most definately wont see it with the baseball of today where the batter seems to have the advantage, there is no way you will see one pitcher dominate the league.
