So my friend just had a vasectomy. For you men... you're about to shudder.

He basically told me that the Dr. took a needle and injected into his balls the anesthesia. Which made him have numb nuts. (like that one?) The Dr. proceeded to make a single incision in the center of his balls and squeezed one of his vas deferens to the hole. Once hooked, the Dr. asked him "let me know if you feel anything. He then proceeded to clamp the vessel. He then was asked "do you feel any pain?" He basically said he felt some tugging, but that was all. So, he then he heard a click sound. Dr. again asked, did you feel anthing, and he said, "no, why?" He said, I just cut on vas deferen. So, the Dr. proceed to tie off and moved to the other side. Same process again.

Now, my friend was telling me that this whole procedure gave new meaning to "blue balls" because apparently he had bruised nuts for a few days. He said the procedure had no pain and he was fine, but the next day was a bit rough.

Now.... Me personally, I figure if I am going to bear the kids and go through that pain that my man (when I get one) will have to bear this pain.

So, my question is, have you had this done and was your experience the same, or if not, are you willing to do this for the love of your eye?

I wouldn't. But that is because I believe there are less painful ways of preventing birth. A simple condom and birthcontrol is VERY effective at preventing pregnancy. And I like my nuts the way they are.

I've had it done, bout three years ago - but the Dr. used a general (IV) anaesthetic, not a local.

Mmmm...valium & demerol cocktail...everything went well, I was lucid but goofy during the whole procedure.

There was a little pain for 'bout two weeks after, but not real bad at all after first 2 days.

All in all, the little pain I dealt with was nothing compared to the peace of mind I have gained and the sexual spontaneity reintroduced into our relationship!!

Had mine done about two years ago. Same procedure as your friend. I was in and out of the office in about an hour. It was sore for a couple days, but after that it was just a dull ache for another couple of weeks.

Really, it was not that big of a deal. :Happycow:

Seconded. I let that be known, too. I don't want any kids, but frankly, I would be willing to do without ANY sexual activity, as opposed to having any sharp objects tearing into my package by some complete stranger, or anyone by that matter. Ouch!

Guys, it's really not that big a deal (although mine IS - LOL).

Once you've already had your share of kids, to get this done is not as scary as you would think.

I mean, yeah, I was freaked out about it too, before I had it done, but looking back, it really was a walk in the park...

...and the drugs were some of the best I ever had (which is saying something) LOL!!!

I had it done almost 3 years ago. I strongly recommend doing it right around New Years so you can watch the football games in peace. You'll need something cold to keep the swelling down and to take it ultra easy for a few days. Sitting down to watch 8 football games, standing only to walk to the expel processed beer is just about right. You'll need to be served your food and drinks so make sure your special woman is around to take care of you in your time of need, just like the man is around to help momma after the little critters come.

FUCK THAT! I get the drugs regardless (sister is a pharmacist) and can keep my equipment functioning! Who is to say that I wont get divorced and want kids with the new trophy wife...and IF I stay with my wife, I want to spread my children out about a decade, so if I start having children around early 30's by the time I'm done, she'll be in menopause, assuming we are the same age.

yep, gonna do it after the first of the year. When I was younger i wanted no kids. Got married, ok, I'll have one. Three years later, good age differnce, our second is a month old today. Two and out, I'm serious this time.
