My boss is a 35-year-old virgin. I believe he is actually in denial, though, so I'm not sure that counts.

But is it ever pathetic if it's something you believe in? If you are 30, unmarried, and don't believe in pre-marital sex, it's more pathetic to not be a virgin.

Granted, I haven't been one for 10 years so I don't really remember what it's like, but still ... I've a few regrets, therefore I'd fault no one for keeping the ol' V-card.

I agree... its not pathetic for anyone to be a virgin, no matter how old they are. I was a virgin until i was 22, by choice. If someone abstains from sex their entire life, i dont think they are pathetic in the least, rather one of the strongest people who ever lived to put up with all the stereotypes and pressures such as the one that has been displayed here.

I'm 21 and still a virgin, and I expect to remain one for several more years. I'm not even in a hurry to lose my virginity. Sex doesn't drive me like it does most men.

depends on if you're waiting until you're married, until you find the right person, or just abstaining for life. if someone is just waiting for the right person... then I'd say sometime in the late 20's, and if someone is waiting until they're married, then maybe late 30's

Nor is a virgin more special than a non.. just different. I keep hearing guys say they want to marry a virgin (if you have a livejournal, keyword virgin and look at some of the communities) and a few are virgins, while others sometimes aren't. They are waiting for marriage and absolute bordering asshole that their wives be of the same morals. That's cool for them, but some of them are 20-30+ and still not married.

Virginity for my friends was not really a cool-kid card, but conversation could flow a lot better because we (being my best friend and I) tend to talk about sex a lot. So a few of our other friends didn't lose their viriginities until college, one a good catholic I'm kinda surprised about, and I dunno, things are much more interesting when we hang out now. They were all so naive and now to have their opinions at the table are really interesting. Especially my friend who lost it to a friend, then had sex with 4 other guys last year.

i'm 20 and still a virgin, and i feel ok with it. i don't feel like i'm pathetic in any way. sure i'm curious, but as i have no idea what i'm missing, i can easily convince myself that i'm not missing out on a whole lot :P i just don't want the hassle of having to remember to take a pill every day and going crazy if my period's late. i don't think i'm mature enough to handle an unplanned pregnancy so i'm still waiting. it used to be really hard for me and my boyfriend but now we're in different countries so we really have no choice but to wait

This is my frist time posting here but i have alittle say to put it so ill toss a post up . First off it doesnt matter if you have or had not had sex most people lie about it when they are younger, this isnt always true though. For most girls they only talk about sex to other girls very rarly do they let EVERYONE know they have had sex unless they want it to be known. Girls wanna look slutty for attention not always because there sluts same with guys. People in general wanna look "cool" and whats "cooler" then hooking up with a hot guy or a hot girl. If being a virgin was "cool" everyone would be one until they where married why do you think this whole non-religious abstence has poped up. Do these people really belive in this or are they just hopping on a band-wagon that 95% of america tends to do. I don't know about where you guys are but where i live i know 3 people that are now AFTER they have already had sex are now waiting for marrage, after a few people "popular" people have done so.

wow this whole post is turning into a rant for my first post basicly what im getting at is WHO CARES WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK DO WHAT YOU THINK IS RIGHT IN YOUR LIFE! also, this is how i feel about it and how i look apon it around my town some people out there really do belive in no pre-marrage sex like i said 3 people in my town DO belive in it.

P.S. i lost mine at 18 (19 now) and i feel it most of the time it really just complcates (sp?) relationships
