Recently stumbled onto this site, and have been reading through some of the posts in this forum. I must say I'm pretty blown back at all the opinions with such little "creditable" information available. IMO, from the information being povided as the days go on, I really don't know what to think. Kobe has pretty much admited that he's a liar and cheats on his wife. Guilty or not, O.J. already proved that if you pocket book is big enough, you can beat a murder charge. Kobe has a ton of cash, and I'm sure the best lawyer money can buy(you know that guy landed a gold mind). If anyone really thinks that this the first time Kobe cheated while on the road, I've got some swamp land in Florida for sale. He's already admited that he had intercourse with her, and IMO that doesn't look good in his favor. Sure, a great deal of evidence still has to come forward, especially since the trial hasn't even entered full swing. Just think that too many folks have already chosen their side of fence, and it's kind of sad to see that we are already judging people before the courts do. So what if she is a slute, and has mulitple sex partners. That absolutly has no bearing. If she said no, then he raped her. These next few months should be good! Any thoughts??

Great post, man. Well thought-out. I'm trying to save my judgement as well. I'm not quick to defend Kobe and I'm not trying to crucify Kate either.

BUT ... with what came out at the prelim. hearing, I think the prosecution has more than anyone thought. I know I know ... the loopholes about the panties and another man's semen ... blah, blah, blah. I just think that things are going to go bad for Kobe in this case. Just my opinion.

NOTE: That DOES NOT mean that I think Kobe is guilty. Nor does it mean that I think he is innocent. I don't know yet. Nobody does except Kobe and Kate.

I really think if she was out for money, this case would have been setteled out of court. Hell, he puts a 4 million dollar rock on his wives hand to shut her up, you'd think some chick from CO would be content with less ya know

I dont agree. I think Kobe is the one that doesn't want to settle for the following reasons

1) If he settles, then everyone assumes he did rape her, and his image will never be restored. People forgive adultery but won't forgive rape. And plus Kobe took a lot of pride in being a positive role model.

2) If he settles then it will encourage more women to target him and other athletes to do the same. If he kicks her ass in court then the money ho's will know not to target Kobe anymore.

3) Kobe is just too competitive and doesnt want to lose this fight

If i was Kobe I wouldnt settle just because I would be really pissed that she is accussing me of rape when it wasn't.

Didn't the detective also confirm that Kobe did indeed stop when she finally communicated to him to stop.

To me it's pretty obivous you have already formed your opinion, and I have to say, your kind of ignornt. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Now I'm not a Kobe defender, personaly I hate the Lakers (nothing against Kobe or Lakers personaly, but I'm a die hard Kincks fan) but I believe people shouldn't past judgement until a verdict has been made.

Now lets say for some weird reason we have to make a judgement without being bias. Though I would love to see the Lakers lose Kobe (I don't mean going to jail, or anything like that if he is innocent) the evidence is in favor of Kobe. The statement the DA made after the final hearing was nothing but damage control. In the hearing it was made clear that there was no physical evidence on the girl except for a tiny bruise on her jaw,(that the detective said he did not see when he examined her) and a tiny injury to her vaginal wall. Though she claimed Bryant held her in place during the alleged rape there was no brusing on her neck, indicating there was not a major struggle. Also the evidence of another mans semen and pubic hair in her panties is NOT to directly say she is a hoe, but to say another man caused the tiny vaginal injury shortly before or after the alleged rape. With all of this Kobe dosen't even have a scratch. Body evidence is key because that proves rape, other evidence like blood on the floor, panties in a closet can't prove rape.

It's still wrong to assume Kobe is innocent, but I can see why some have this opinion. For the others who feel he is guilty, it appears your going all on what the girl said happened and not on evidence. So you guys/girls are even MORE wrong than Kobe supporters. THATS ALL

Amazing how much fortitude you have and side with damage control. I don't blame you either. That varies from one from another. It might make sense to settle if Kate would take the money (say $1M and shuts up -no books, press - total confidentiality,) but only before the criminal trial AND refuses to press charges further. Either way, Kobe is still screwed in more ways than one. His endorsement contracts are over. Nike already dropped his $44 million for about $1M.

I hate to break it to you Park but the Knicks couldn't beat the Lakers even without Kobe. :thumbdown: I do however agree with the rest of your post. I think the prosecution has a very weak case, this has been an example of a small town trying to "fry the big fish" from the start. It started when the cops put out an arrest warrant without DA approval. Don't you think the fact that the cops didn't notice the bruise on her chin but they went on with the arrest anyway should tell you something right off the bat.

I have said it before and I say it now with even more conviction. KOBE IS INNOCENT. This girl got exactly what she was looking for up in that room, up until the part where he busted his nut then promptly shuffled her out of the room so he could get some rest before surgery the next day. It was then that she realized how trashy and slutty he just made her feel and thought in her pretty little head "I'll show him" and cried rape. I have seen this situation happen before to a friend of mine, and the friend was the girl who cried rape. She felt all skanky after she fucked this guy and he kicked her to the curb, so she cried rape. The guy got his ass kicked by me and a few other people and then the truth came out, it was all a lie.

Don't underestimate the evil mind of a woman guys, you might not live to regret it.

This rape case can't even get past the "probable cause" standard of proof after more than 2 days in Preliminary court. The Eagle DAs are playing with themselves. It's over. Only way they can make this case is manufacture some new evidence against Kobe. If Eagle cops and detectives tried to do this, the Defense will expose them for putting up dumbassed evidence. Kate should have lawyers take whatever Kobe's lawyers are willing and on the table right away. Otherwise, more crap will come out and she might get nothing. Geraldo on Fox Newsnetwork said tonight agreed with what I posted earlier, as to early out-of-court settlement (he suggested $5M). Geraldo paraphrased an hour ago, my posting this morning about the Eagle DAs "You ain't seen nothing yet."
