Everquest 2
Anyone else pre-order it? And does anyone know what class they might be playing? I'm thinking of a mage for direct damage spells.

There's millions of people playing online rpg's :P Mostly because they are addicting as hell. I havent preordered it yet.. it hasnt even gone into beta i dont think, so i doubt it will be out by the end of 04.

It's still in the closed friends and family beta phase. The beta was supposed to open up for Legends subscribers two months ago, but hasn't yet. Sucks, because I've been waiting around on Legends just to get on the beta for this. I'll probably play, but most likely not past the beta, unless it's really good. I don't know what class yet, I was a shaman in EQ and will probably play one again. I'm more excited for World of Warcraft.

everquest 2 is going to be nasty, but the first one took 4 months out of my life, 12 bucks a month or whatever is cheap, but the time you give it is way too expensive

I just got my beta email today for EQ2. The scheduled release date (according to ebgames.com) is November 15th, but I'm sure it's going to be later than that.

Ack I haven't gotten anyhting about beta. Typical SOE, I went out of town for 3 days and they opened the OOW beta while I was gone. Not getting any love.

From the screen shots i have seen, it looks like EQ2 has taken some of the best points from COH (i.e. mana and life bars above plaayers heads, info on the npc's in the target window) and given it the EQ theme. I just hope it doesn't have the Lag of EQ, Coh usually has mnimal to no lag.
Anyone on beta comment on the capabilities and lag issues?
