Is Griffey Done?
Ken Griffey Jr has once again torn a hammy. What do you guys think, is he all done? He seems to have hamstrings made from paper....

Re: Is Griffey Done?
He also has a guaranteed contract. Why quit when you can make millions for five months of "work" ...

Re: Is Griffey Done?
i think he'll sit the rest of the year, then get traded to an AL team and finish his career at DH

Re: Is Griffey Done?
He's definitely not done... while he probably won't break Hank Aaron's record now... he is still one of the best hitters of all time. The guy's swing is so naturally smooth it should be illegal.

Re: Is Griffey Done?
He needs to go to the AL and play DH, although his injuries last couple of years happen when he was rounding the bases. He just can't seem to stay healthy, too bad he would have gone down as the best hitter of all time.

Re: Is Griffey Done?
It seems like he can't stay healthy. If he does move to the AL he has a chance to play quite a few more years. Otherwise I'd have to say

Re: Is Griffey Done?
Does anyone even care about Junior anymore? I got to see his 500th homerun, but it was really almost a disappointment.
Here's a guy who was the brightest star in the game. He holds his team up for ransom, demands a trade to only one team and sells out everyone for the $$$$$$. Then, once he gets the money, he can't stay healthy, gets grumpy with the fans and the media and turns into the exact opposite of what he was when he was the biggest name in the game. Now, he's just another pathetic hanger-on. A player of Griffey's stature should retire and walk away early, before being remembered as a guy who hung around for the money, while hitting .250.
I saw Junior in his prime. He was everything baseball was meant to be. Now he's a disgrace.
Maybe Junior should take a lesson from Stan Musial. Near the end of Musial's career, he had a horrible season. Before Spring Training the next year, Stan The Man walked into the GM's office and demanded a massive pay cut, because he hadn't earned his salary the year before!
And for the record, Junior couldn't have carried Musial's jock!

It's too bad Griff didn't take care of his body; he's paying for it now.

Re: Is Griffey Done?
I hope he never plays again. The Reds can collect insurance on his contract then and maybe field a real team

Re: Is Griffey Done?
He's got to move over to the American League and DH. . . the Cincy stint has been nothing but a disaster.

Re: Is Griffey Done?
He'll be back, it really does suck that he can't stay healthy and had to be a money-grubber. I remember when he was younger and just awesome to watch

Re: Is Griffey Done?
It's true he has been a joke since leaving seattle, but man, does he have a beautiful swing. Back in the day, just watching him swing that bat was sweet. Just so natural, smooth, and powerful. Just imagine if he had stayed in Seattle, stayed healthy, and if A-Rod had stayed in town with him...
