Go to www.videohelp.com and you can get step-by-step details on how to back up your dvds or a list of free (usually) tools to do it

I had dvd x copy and really didnt like it. Its a very basic program. If you download dvd shrink you'll really like the options it has. You can reauthor the disk to only contain the movie, no subtitles,menus or extra languages and keep the actual movie at near 100% quality. Its a great program, i highly recommend it.
