Re: The Country You Live In...
I like it in america. Considering the kind of problems we have, it could be much worse. I'm not sure of too many other countries having problems with obesity.

Re: The Country You Live In...
America has been berry berry goooood to mi. I could definitely kick it with my mates and shielas down under though. It is funny, the only Aussies I have ever met told me that everyone there longs to be in the US. Grass is always greener I guess.
I love the US. You can live in all different types of climates with all different types of people. Oh yeah, plus we were the best at everything :happycow:  :speed:

I'd go with an English speaking country. Doesn't matter wich one, except for England. I just like the language . Not many cultural differences so it wouldn't be like I'd step into a totally different world.

Re: The Country You Live In...
I think its funny a Canadian would make a comment about complaining about the Americans. If our country wasn' sitting right south of yours; your crack and heroin supporting country would have been runover so long ago it would make your frieken head spin. In the year 2000 people woud be saying...canada...what's canada? I for one love living int he United States. We are tolerant of people's rights, but at the same time always try and do what is best for the public in general. Violence in some areas s crappy, but where is their aboslutely no violence? Answer is no where. And yes we are the most powerful nation in the world and as that we have a resposibility to the rest of the world to promote peace and make tis world a safer place for all countries to live in. I do not like war, and hope one day the word will not even exist, but until then we must protect our right to sppech, our right to due process and our right to freedom of religion...all supported by the constitution, but all could be taken away in the blink of an eye.

Re: The Country You Live In...
Some people feel it's a drag that Americans feel superior to everyone else. Well, they take a back seat to Southern Californians; we've taken it to the next level out here. I've lived in many different states & nations throughout my life and would not live anywhere but here in SoCal.
We have a saying here - "There's no life East of the I-5 and North of the Grapevine". Beyond there, be dragons & tygers...
And if you do not recognize either of those landmark references, then you are obviously a fucking savage.

Man, I live in Mission Viejo about 1.5 miles east of the 5. Does that mean I too live in this no-man's land you speak of? Damn, I thought I was finally able to call myself an OC dawg.
I have to agree with you. Southern California is hands-down the greatest piece of real estate that the good lord ever blessed his Earth with. This is not up for discussion.

heh - well we do maintain outposts in places like Big Bear, Arrowhead, Idyllwild & Las Vegas - so M.V. is certainly within an accepted & respected SoCal "Sphere Of Influence".
But your profile info should say you live in the "Far East", not "midwest". "Midwest" is more like, say, Laguna Niguel or Westminster...

*while spitting out raw meat being eaten straight off the bone of a fresh kill* Grapevine? Whut Grapevine? *returns to dragging woman around by hair*
Hell, everyone from The City will tell you it is all hicks and hillbillies if you're not from Greater New York (excluding the Bronx of course).

Thank the electoral college for giving you a voice.

with the electoral college, if 49% of my state voted democratic and 51% voted republican, all of our electoral votes would go republican, instead of splitting them up. the electoral college does not give me a voice, it takes my voice away. shouldnt each individual's vote count? that way, it wouldnt matter what city you live in, you would have an equal voice no matter what.

it's really simple to explain:
we live in the "United States of America" not the "United State of America"

That doesn't do a very good job of answering her question exactly.

I'd have to agree with billpl here - it wouldn't be SoCal if we weren't a little flexible after all...
