I used to get tons of movies off Kazaa. Now none of them work. Does anybody know why this is and what I can do about it? I mean full length movies, not the 3-30 meg kind.

Any input would be helpful.

Do you get any errors? Are they .wmv files? I know I have a problem wih most of the full length ones, they keep trying to acquire licenses!!!

I used to have problems playing different video formats until I downloaded K-Lite Codec Pack, and haven't had any problems playing any videos since.

Kazaa has gone to crap.

Use Bittorrent or mIRC.

Google search either or both if you don't know what either is. There's a lot information out there for both.

Bittorrent is by far the best out there. Might be a bitch to get setup properly at first. But once it is up and running you will wonder why you thought Kazzaa was so good in the first place. It is also now the most popular p2p method in use.

Bittorrent isn't bad, but I've never had it download faster than about 5k/s and that was with a lot of seeders and stuff (or whatever they're called). I'm on DSL, so that's just not good. Bittorrent is good only if you're looking for a very popular file. If not, then you're hosed.

Emule is what I use now. The speed is a lot faster.

Switch to emule. I used to use kazaa, but it got to the point where almost every file was corrupted. I switched to emule, and I like it a lot better.

You may not have the correct codecs installed to play them properly. Try installing a codec pack like Nimo or Ace Mega. They install just about every codec you need and come with some media players as well.

irc... no other thing better... dowloaded from servers at 395 kbs... best place to get movies and mp3... packetnews site and xdcc grabber help a lot with this too...
