Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
My little brother is 10th top ranked offense of all time in Madden 2004, but he wants to switch to ESPN cuz its only 20.00. Anyone heard anything good about Madden to come out this year?
I have heard of the "hit stick", if you hit R3 (playstation) as you hit someone, timed right it will be an increased hit. They are fixing glitches too I hope.

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
From what I hear, Madden's still got ESPN beat for the better gameplay, which seem to always be the case every year.
But then again, at $20, it's pretty to just get both....

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
I am a true madden fan, but I did play a little of the espn game over at a friends house. And it actually looks like its worth picking up for the 20 dollars. The controls are way different than madden but over all its ok.

I think Madden will always be better. Even if it costs $30 more I will buy it instead.

I have always loved Madden but I recently bought the ESPN and was surprised how good the game play is...

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
ESPN has that new VIP thing that tracks just about all of your gameplay tendencies. Madden's gameplay replicates the style of play of real NFL squads. ESPN's online features setting up 32-team leagues and holding tournaments. Madden has much improved player details and ball physics. ESPN costs $20. Madden costs $50 (but throw in an extra $10 for ps2 and get the collectors edition that has tweaked versions of Madden 93, 97, and 99 with present-day rosters.).
Still, I'm not sure which one I would get. Both games look awesome.

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
One time I bought NFL 2k3 because (1) I wanted to see what other football games are like other than madden and (2) my boy Urlacher was on the cover.... long story short, I will NEVER buy any other NFL game other than the Madden series, dont waste your money on a risk like that, stick with the Madden.

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
I've been burned once before by deciding to give espn a shot over madden. However, i'm quite intrigued by this years comparisons. Is it worth another shot, or should i just stay with the tried and true??

Is the $20 deal for ESPN for the PS2 version or just Xbox?

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
Since madden isnt even out yet who knows. But in my opinion madden will rock espn. I have also heard some good things about espn, and for $20 its probably worth picking up if you can afford it. I dont have any extra $, so im gonna hold out for madden for now. Im pretty sure I wont be dissapointed.

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
$20 deal is for both the ps2 and xbox version. Some places even have it cheaper, i think Target had it before for 15.88, which is a STEAL

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
ESPN is a good deal for the 20 bucks.. but I agree that the gameplay is not all that. They packed it full of other features though that make it pretty cool.

Re: Madden 2005 vs. ESPN 2005
everybody go read the comparison article in game informer. they actually rate overall gameplay and graphics to be better for espn (though im sure madden will outsell it just because of the people who refuse to buy anything else).
