Re: 1000mb drive
If it's a 1000mb drive that's only 1 gigabyte. I'm guessing you mean 1,000,000 mb, or 1,000 gb. and for you perfectionists a terrabyte is 1,099,511,627,776 bytes.
How long would it take the average user to use up that much? any guesses?

Re: 1000mb drive
What if you corrupt the disk? To defrag it would take 3 months. Hopefully there will be a suitable tool that comes with it.

Re: 1000mb drive
IF it's corrupt, defrag wouldn't do shit, you'd have to reformat, but at 1100 dollars, I'd rather wait a month to reformat, than buy a new one.

Re: 1000mb drive
Oh well, shit happens. I don't know if I'd ever have reason to buy something this big, but of course the bigger the better, right?. Anywho, it would be usefull for programers, and video editors.

Re: 1000mb drive
I can think of one place that uses over a terabyte on their web server....
terraserver.microsoft.com
I don't think the LaCie drive is for everyone. Like it's been said earlier... besides large companies, who could possibly need all that space.

Re: 1000mb drive
Well someone who has maybe an AIW and rips millions of tv shows and movies to their hard drive might need it...of course that's if they can afford it
