I agree with what you have stated...an intimacy with someone is a totally different thing than cyber sex, although i would hope my significant other wouldn't be trolling the internet for love, sex or anything else with random people.

That said, whether or not that is cheating at that point is debatable, but you're already heading down that road, no? Just my 2 cents.
