Ambiance/Mood/Atmosphere etc...
Ok, so I was just letting my train of thought going again and I was wondering; how the hell can we FEEL certain moods ??
For example; when you enter a room and somebody has passed away and you didn't hear about it yet, you KNOW something awful has happend, same goes for fights, happyness everything. I'm not talking about facial expressions, facial expressions only tell us something to a certain point. You can fake a smile but the person you are talking to will know immediately that you're not really smiling.
So what is it that makes us know/feel that ?

Re: Ambiance/Mood/Atmosphere etc...
I know exactly what you are talking about. The air almost seems heavier, thicker. Scientifically, I have no clue. Haven't they done tests where they watch the magnetic field around a person's body and how it changes for different moods? I have a vague recollection of reading something about that...about how a person acting aggressively showed a field that actually reached out towards the other person. Hmm...this always has interested me.
I wasn't much help. Sorry.

it's because you can read the personalities and interactions of the other people.. for instance, when you walk into a room, and people that usually are cheerful and talking are just sitting there gloomily (is that even a word?) you can tell something is different by their behavior patterns.. at least that's what i think.

I'm sure the majority of what we pickup in a situation like that is in body language. I wonder if in some situations we don't give off pheromones or something similar that is picked up on a subconcious level.

Re: Ambiance/Mood/Atmosphere etc...
i know that we all have an aura aaround us, every living thing does.
This aura changes with moods, and illness etc.
They did an experiment with a leaf, where theyphotographed its aura. then the cut a part of the leaf off and photographed it sometime later. The aura had changed colour, but the shape had remained the same as if it remembered what shape it used to be.
I believe these aura are what make some people very intuitive or empathic, like when someone walks in the room and before they spaek or you look at them you know somethings wrong. Ive always been very empathic, although i cant see auras like some people can, i get feelings and they are never wrong.
I think you sense auras with your own aura, and thats how you can sense moods.

Re: Ambiance/Mood/Atmosphere etc...
EvilMonkey-you are exactly right.
One thing I have done loits of reading on is Human Energy Fields. You should try checking out Barbara Brennan's "Hands of Light", she has lots and lots of research packed into there. Some people sense these energy fields more than others because they are more open to it or aware of it. There have been some great strives in recent years in measuring aura fields and how it relates to illness and emotion. For those of you feeling skeptical right now its ok, 10 years ago scientists argues auras dont exist and now thy are actually using energy healers in hosptal rooms...how is that for a kick in the ass?

Re: Ambiance/Mood/Atmosphere etc...
I think it has a lot to do with how the auras are connected though. I believe that everyone, and everything is connected in some way, shape, or form. Not to sound like a Jedi Knight, but when something happens on either side of the spectrum, there is a disturbance in this connection. Positive, and Negative effects. That is how we "feel" that something has happened.
