Re: socal WR'ers... anyone else feel that?

all the cell phone towers out here are sucking ass now... no one can call anyone- just busy signals

I hate the first few minutes after an earthquake for that reason alone... the ground shook- I looked up the earthquake info and saw it was a 5.6 (or 5.8 or 5.4 depending on where you look right now) and it was centered in chino california (halfway between be and LA)

after that, it was back to work and I couldn't make work calls because everyone decided to call everyone they knew

all in all, this has been an interesting 24 hours for me... last night a car drove INTO the first floor of my office. that was interesting to say the least.

I was expecting something out there when there was a minor 2.1 quake here on the east coast yesterday.

5.4 seems to be the consensus now...nothing to call anyone about, but losers still will...
I feel for you Ryan.

Re: socal WR'ers... anyone else feel that?

meh... all is back to normal now...

It's funny in earthquakes to see who's lived in socal for awhile and who is new. anyone who is new freaks out like crazy, and the rest of us calmly watch that person freak out as if the world is ending. Then it ends, and that person feels like an idiot.

It's like moving to Florida and freaking out when a hurricane comes, or oklahoma and freaking out when a tornado comes. Or moving to west virginia and freaking out when your sister gets pregnant. It just comes with the territory.

5.4?? Have another beer. Not much for a west coast quake. Give me a 5.4 here in South Carolina and everyone would be freaking out.

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame

When dumb ass truck drivers forget to put their landing gear up high enough on their trailers, it scrapes the ground outside my upstairs office in the driveway and shakes the building a hell of a lot more than that piddly ass rocker

To quote Magic Mountain's commercials; that earthquake was "ONE FLAG"

Yeah, I was at work over by the beach and on the phone with some insurance lady regarding some jewbag hitting my truck...she started screaming about half a minute before I felt anything. I was expecting a tsunami and was dissapointed.

ONE FLAG!

We felt it pretty bad, partly because we are in a shitty building that is about to slide of the hillside anyway. I just sat in my office and waited for the glass to break, hoping I could claim workers comp.

Re: socal WR'ers... anyone else feel that?

I thought it was a "fun" earthquake. Maybe two flags. But definitely nothing to get freaked out about. It was a nice, rolling quake.

My friend Elaine was at the epicenter (Chino Hills), and she said it felt nice and rolling even there.

Aren't you in HR? Shouldn't you be working against worker's comp claims?
