I thought when you subscribed to a magazine, that you were suppose to receive your mag before, or right when, it hit the newsstand?
Since I travel a lot for work, I am big on magazines. So, somewhat to save money off the cover price, and also to guarantee that I keep getting current issues, I have subscribed to a lot of magazines.
Some of the magazines:
Surfer
Surfing
Surfer's Journal
Surfer's Path
Transworld Surfing
Maxim
Stuff (until they discontinued it)
Playboy
The Economist
Wall Street Journal (online subscription gets you a free print copy)
Journal of Commerce
DSN Retailing
Transport Topics
Water
Foam
Blender
A lot of travel and a lot of time to read magazines.
What pisses me off is when I'm in an airport and see the latest of one, or many, of the above magazines' newest issue on the newsstand before I get my copy. I'm obviously not going to buy the mag off the stand so when I get back to work I have those copies waiting in my mailbox
WTF?
Anyone else have issues with this shit?
What mags do you subscribe to?
Who's going to be the first to rattle off "so and so subscribes to [insert gay magazine here]"
Surfer: Staple of the industry.
Surfing: More fun to read.
Transworld Surf: Most fun to read. More opinionated and party/babe themed.
Surfer's Journal: Old School hip. Great bios and stories.
Surfer's Path: Global surf travel and spot exposes.
Water: Surfline (forecasting site) mag with killer photography.
Foam: Surfline's women's themed mag. Bikinis. Bikinis. Bikinis.
So yeah, there are differences. Kind of like the differences between Rolling Stone, Spin, Blender, Q, Village Voice and other mags of the music ilk.
