That will surely put a smile on your face!

Where I work, Cell Phones are not allowed, and if it has a camera, then you cannot park inside the fence.
No, it is not a Prison, but sometimes feels like one.

Re: wow what a POS

I had the same work restrictions when at a DOE nuclear facility. Once, I forgot I had the sumbitch on the way to a fire in a secure area and tossed the thing out of the firetruck window. After it was over, I picked it up on the way back to the station.

But imagine the extra fun when you receive an intimate, just for you, naked woman pic message while in a meeting with senior management in a SECURE area....

I know you replied that you found it. Either way, I still have to pay for text messaging because the north america's choice doesn't come with unlimited. I can text mexico and it doesn't charge me extra though, which is nice since everyone else charges a quarter per. and considering I put ~5000 texts a month through my shit, it's worth it.

Texting can be addictive; before January of this year, I had never sent one. Thankfully, I have unlimited texts; otherwise, I'd be paying out the rear for it. I'm gonna check out the verizon website and see what they have to offer.

This is the best plan you'll find anywhere, if you live in an area that gets decent Sprint service that is. Luckily it's great in Chicago. $30 a month for 500 min, unlimited internet and text messaging is amazing. It's the Sprint Employee Referral Offer, it works. I have it now and I've referred 3 other people to it that have it too.

I liked NEXTEL before Sprint sucked it up and made it horrible and unreliable. The hospital I worked for was a die hard NEXTEL fan until the merger. Maybe the kinks are worked out, I don't know.

I guess you have to find something that works well with what you do!

Sure they do - the "family share" plan that I have with Vz has unlimited text & pix messaging to anyone in any network and 700 shared minutes for $99 for main account & $10 more for each addt'l line, plus all free unlimited calling to other peeps in the plan and anyone else in the Vz network (which for me is all my family & most of my friends, but Vz is popular in SoCal). The shared minutes only get counted against for out of network voice calls; I have never maxed out our minutes and I have a teenager. Plus I have not seen anyone else with coverage as extensive as Vz.

After the NEXTEL/SPRINT merger fiasco, my hospital moved to Verizon!

BDJ, I don't have a teen, but my Alltel plan has unlimited texts, tons of minutes ( I share this line as personal and business), and it costs me around $60 month.

Re: wow what a POS

yeah some other companies do have lower tiered pricing, but the excellent network coverage & free in-network calling is what really sold me on Vz (and I had tried a couple others first, Sprint being one of them). When I first signed on with them Vz was one of the only large carriers that had free in-network calling, and of course now they all do to some extent

BDJ: glad to know you're happy and satisfied with your service and provider. I am looking into a better phone. I have a basic POS and would like something easier to text with!

Re: wow what a POS

I love these phones with the full qwerty pad like the enV, enV2 & the Glyde. You gotta get one like that if you do any amount of regular texting; I know both Sprint & ATT carry similar ones.

Since I switched to the enV I could not live w/out a qwerty pad, although I always loved the razr/clamshell form factor cuz I'm a trekkie & those phones made me feel Kirk-like.

Re: wow what a POS

I think the plan we're gonna go with is unlimited minutes and unlimited texting family plan for $230 per month. That's about what we spend combined anyway. We need the unlimited because she talks to her best friend A LOT on the phone, and I do most of my talking during the day across text.

And I was looking at Alltel's website, it said that after the merger, Alltel customers will still receiver Alltel support, until their contract runs out. What I think Im ultimately gonna do is just start a new contract after the merger. Im hoping that since I want to start a new contract, I won't have to pay an early termination fee.

too bad her best friend is not on Vz as well - if she was those calls to/from her would all be free & you could get a much cheaper plan.

Almost worth putting her friend on your family share plan for an extra 10 bucks a month just so the two of them can talk for free, and then you could get a voice-limited/text-unlimited plan for much less.

just a thought
