Re: Beautiful Day in Colorado
Guess I'm not going to know how nice it is in Colorado now, I got out of my trip on Monday! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Not yay because I'm not going to Colorado necessarily, just that the meeting I was going to have to go to got settled over the phone between attorneys. AND I don't have to catch a 6:45AM flight out of OC and return back in OC at 10:30PM
You got fuzzy dice in that ride and crankin' REO Speedwagon BTW?

Re: Beautiful Day in Colorado
I gotta get back up to Colorado when I get home. I've only been to Colorado Springs and Denver, but both places were gorgeous.
I just gotta convince Cinn of it, she says it's too cold there.

Re: Beautiful Day in Colorado
YaMon - No Dice, I can't see around them, the view is already limited at 90+ MPH.
Seldom do I play the Stereo, I like listening to the Engine Roar!!! I seldom use the Tach to shift, but go by the sound.
FP - Today was 86 in Denver, and about 77 in the mountains, it gets in the upper 90's and some low 100's in August (Yuck). The mountains will see 80's easily as well.
Also, I finally got off my Dead Arse and ship ya some snacks last week. You should see them in July. Hopefully by the 4th. (hahahaha!)
If you do make it to the area, let me know, I will buy you a few rounds.

People look at the tach to shift? Hmm... I don't remember doing that. Is that the norm is that just for newish drivers?

Re: Beautiful Day in Colorado
Most people do not push the tach to Redline before shifting, the Max Torque is around 5400 RPMs.
And yes, the way I stated it does sound stupid.
Kulots, Come on down, let me take you for a ride, and you will understand.

Ahh.... tachs are not needed. If your know your automobile, grasshopper, you know when to shift for maximum power and minimum time to attain true enlightenment.
I had fuzzy dice in my camaro. It was fast (big block, 4 speed, 3.73 factory gears) and a convertible, but I spent more time driving slow and picking up the wominz.

When Drag racing, Tachs are very beneficial. hitting the Right RPM where Max power is at, is crucial to getting the fastest run.
Same for launching, If I get too high of RPM's on the launch, I spin the ET's (semi slick).
Too bad I am too chicken shit to shift hard enough to get low 13's. Fear of blowing the engine when between gears and keeping it at nearly 6K is hard.

OK, really?
I've been to Aspen and Denver. Aspen was gorgeous and the boarding was awesome...second best to home I've done, but Denver was a wasteland. Brown, flat and just a ton of nothing. Felt like a high altitude desert. Maybe it was because it was fall (October) or just the area I was in (I didn't get to go downtown but could see it on the way to and from the hotel to the airport in the distance.
You could see the mountains in the distance, but they aren't actually a part of Denver are they?

I was in Stapleton, where the old Denver airport used to be. I I was there for a week in August 06, doing some soil investigations on the Northfield at Stapleton HUGE shopping center. The temperature was perfect *high 80's, low 90's*, the view of the mountains from my hotel was great, even though they were miles away, and the beer got me buzzed quicker.
Along the original lines of the thread, I think I got Cinn talked into going up to Colorado sometime after I get home. She won't do it unless it's summertime, though. She has this thing about cold weather. She wants no part of it.

I'm not familiar with the area. I literaly went from the airport to the hotel where the show was (Rocky Mountain Audio Fest) in October of '06. I think it was called the Tech Center?
I would love to go back for boarding season, but I guess if Cinn has to go in the summer you're not likely to be going then!
