Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
And I thought we were bad. In Oregon you can buy beer and wine in grocery stores and such but you have to go to a liquor store for anything besides that. Kind of a pain when I don't like beer but will drink the hard stuff

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
Here in SC, I can get beer and wine in grocery stores and gas stations; if I want anything harder, I have to go to a state store, aka "red dot". I travel alot and found it strange that I couldn't get a cold beer most anywhere I stopped. It seems like a pain in the rear to have to locate a state store, whereas there are gas stations all around...

We can't get anything above 0.5% outside of a liquor or cold beer & wine store.
Pain in the ass.

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
that's one good thing about california. I can go to costco and get jumbo sized bottles of booze. You can get any liquor at the grocery store. It was odd seeing jager and stuff in safeway.

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
Strangest thing I ever saw: in a WalGreens in West Memphis, AR was a full on liquour store. You name it, they had it. I never have come across a chain pharmacy with that much non-medicinal alcohol.

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
In PA you not only can't get beer and liquor in the grocery store, but you cannot sell beer and liquor in the same store.
You can imagine my dismay when I moved here from MI where beer and liquor are available in the same aisle in Wal-Mart.

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
In Colorado, it used to be no Liqueur sales on Sunday. Except at a bar or restaurant.
And only Liqueur stores could sell booze over 3.2 (Supermarkets have that crap)
But that is all changing. Sundays Liqueur Stores are open, and soon, you can get anything at a Grocery Store.

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
That's one thing I hated about traveling to other states...weird liquor laws. DC was the worst!
The only thing I dislike about CA liquor laws is they stop serving booze at 2 in bars. Other than that, I can walk to any market and grab beer, any liquor stores and get booze, and most supermarkets, pharmacies, costco's etc carry anything I want.
I still shop at bevmo tho....ever since that place got here, I never felt so at home.

Re: Beer And Wine Finally Being Sold In NJ Supermarkets
here in Las Vegas, you can buy anything, anytime, anywhere, and at any strength.
All Bars never close, 24/7 even christmas, and we have more degenerate drunks and dui cases than anyone else.
oh and we have slot machines in every single gas station in town, and you used to be able to smoke in them, that just changed though, damn cali commie bastards. Only place that doesn't have slot machines is wal-mart, but they sell liquor and beer now. Every other grocery store/CVS ect most likely has small gambling section.
aww the freedom.

The 2am thing applies here as well only it's not just in bars. You can't buy beer anywhere after 2am. Grocery stores will not sell it to you.

West Memphis is a strange place, though.
Only place in the state that has a dog track. Hot Springs has Oaklawn, a horse track, but it's not a run down, crap-ass town like West Memphis is.
