We did this a while back, but the search function didn't find the thread I was looking for, so...

Mine is my nickname given to me by my room mates and friends in my first apartment. I used to drunkenly respond to people "yeah mom". It was referencing Fast Times At Ridgemont High when Brad asked Spicoli and his buds where their shirts were and he answered "something happen to em mom".

It got misconstrued as Ya Mon.

Not groundbreaking, but the name has stuck for over 16 years and was actually the name of my production company (video and multimedia) YaMon Productions, Inc.. It was actually an S-Corp, so it was legit.

Oh. And it's the best smilie on here!

Mine's a nickname I got about 8 or 9 years ago when I was working at Subway. One of the girls there mentioned that my name sounded a lot like 'queso'. I mentioned that to others and now have friends who call me Queso, Qwayso (phonetically), and Cheesy. Maggie's kid calls me Queso half the time, it's kinda cute.

That and cheese is delicious.

And my smiley is better than yamons

Mine is from a slipped finger. I wanted to make my name Predator, which actually has some meaning. When I was creating my account it kept dropping everything after the P and said I couldn't have "P" as my username. I kept trying to input Predator and it kept dropping everything after the P. The last time I tried it, my finger slipped from shift to z and then it dropped everything after zpr so I said fuck it.

Back when I first started using names for logins to systems, I could not use my name. I needed something I could easily Remember.
I always loved the Flintstones Cartoon as a kid. Fred, Barney, Wilma, Betty, Dino.
Joe Rockhead fit me also because I have a big head and no neck.
My real name is Ed (but I never get offended when people call me Joe.
PI - "Hey Joe, I love you no Shit, buy me drink!"

My name comes from Dragon (Because I love the whole fantasy storylines etc.) but someone always beat me too it, so I added a letter rather then a number and it stuck.
