I never have...just don't think it's for me. I guess if you'd never see the person again perhaps it would be a little easier. I just don't think I could feel good about myself afterwards. That's not to say that I think it's wrong...just how I am. *smiles*

They're not for me either. I'd feel really guilty and cheap afterwards. Plus, there are a lot worse things to worry over..such as getting pregnant and not knowing who/where the father was, contracting std's and etc....yucky.

I can't lie.. I have a couple one nighters in my past..

In fact.. one of my one nighters, I bumped into at a bar on the other side of the world 2 years after we hooked up. Now THAT was REALLY weird.. needless to say.. that night.. we hooked up again.. haha.

Alright...first of all, let me please say that nothing beats sex in a committed relationship in terms of fulfillment, satisfaction, and feeling good the next day. Now, that being said....

...I have had 6 one night stands. I'm assuming by one night stand, that you mean sex with someone you are not in a relationship, nor plan on being in a relationship with. No strings attached one time situation. If so, I've had six.

Now, of those six, three were great, three I could have lived without experiencing. The three that were good had been preceded by weeks of sexual buildup, some discussion about ground rules before meeting, and turn on and turn offs. So we both went into it with some expectations that we were able to meet.

Had I gone into those scenarios expecting to find a relationship somewhere in there, or wanted a phone call the next day, or subsequent dates, yah, I'd have been hurt and regretful. But going into it as a consenting adult who wanted a night/weekend of good sex and nothing else, it totally fulfilled what I wanted.

Of the three that sucked (no pun intended), all of them were spontaneous with no buildup, one guy was too drunk to keep it up, another was just so incompatible with me and we had no time to discover what pleased the other (we got the job done, but it wasn't pretty), and the third one, the sex was great but he decided that one night wasn't enough and it took me forfuckingever to get rid of him.

I think that too often people associate one night stands with promiscuity and I don't think that is a fair judgement. I was in a faithful relationship for eight years, and now that I am single, I'll be damned if I'm going to be monogamous to my pocket rocket until my next relationship. I have turned down many an offer, and I believe in mutual respect and safe sex amongst two consenting adults. That to me is not promiscuity.

And THAT, folks, is my two cents.
